Jay Fausch is Senior Director of Marketing and Business Strategy for Alcatel-L ucent North America where he is responsible for driving the company's business development and strategic marketing initiatives in the cable MSO segment. Prior to joining Alcatel-Lucent, he held key management positions at AT&T, Paradyne, Racal Data Communications and Westell Technologies. Based in Raleigh, North Carolina, Jay also coordinates key Alcatel-Lucent activities within key cable industry organizations, including CableLabs, CTAM, NCTA and SCTE. He is a well respected broadband industry veteran, and has served on the Board of Directors of the DSL Forum and Fiber to the Home Council. He received a BS in Electrical Engineering from Duke University and an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Jay is well versed in broadband service delivery and a frequent speaker at industry conferences.
Perry Solomon, Vice President, Business Development and General Manager, Worldwide Media Solutions, FAST: Perry Solomon has over 10 years of experience in the media & entertainment, technology and Internet industries, helping companies develop and implement growth strategies. Most recently, Perry was a founder and Vice President of Strategy and Products at Peppercoin, a venture-backed electronic payments software company, where he led the development of Peppercoins business and technology strategy and product roadmap. Previously, Perry served as a director in the Content Bridge business unit at Inktomi Corporation and also served as product manager at Adero, Inc., a start-up content delivery network, where he built a globally-distributed e-commerce service for small and medium-sized digital merchants. Perry was also a Strategic Change consultant in the Entertainment, Media & Communications practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He began his career as an investment banker with Peregrine Capital in Hong Kong and with Salomon Brothers in New York, where he advised telecommunications/media companies on mergers and acquisitions and fundraising. Solomon received a bachelor's degree in foreign service from Georgetown University and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
Matthew Marnik, Director of Marketing, Juniper Networks: Matthew Marnik is a Director of Marketing for the Multiplay group at Juniper Networks, where he is focused on IPTV, IPTV advertising, next-gen high margin services. He also brings a wealth of broadband experience to the Broadband Services Forum, for which he has served on the Board of Directors and as its Vice President of Marketing. Previously with Nortel, Matthew worked on defining and marketing triple play solutions, launched the industry's first Optical Ethernet solution, introduced Nortel's Ethernet switching portfolio to the service provider market, and developed the enterprise market for broadband IP services. Matthew has spoken at dozens of industry events and conferences around the world. Prior to his work at Nortel Networks, Matthew was a management consultant with Price Waterhouse in New York. Matthew has an MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and a B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross.
John Reister, Chief IPTV Architect, BigBand Networks: John Reister has over 14 years of experience in broadband and telecommunications, serving as chief architect for IPTV of BigBand Networks, responsible for the strategic and technical direction of the companys IPTV offerings. Prior to joining BigBand Networks, Mr. Reister was chief technology officer with leading DSL access platform vendor Copper Mountain Networks, where he was responsible for the technical vision and strategic direction. While there he drove technical product requirements from inception, developed a video distribution strategy, led regulatory strategy including serving on an FCC panel, and developed patent-pending technologies. Mr. Reister has also held positions at Bain & Company with a focus on telecommunications, and Sun Microsystems, Sunsoft division. Mr. Reister holds a bachelors of science degree from Pennsylvania State University, a masters of science in mechanical and aerospace engineering from Princeton University, and a masters of business administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Kenneth A. Wright, CTO, C-COR: Kenneth Wright joined C-COR as Chief Tec hnology Officer (CTO) in October 2000. He is responsible for directing C-COR's technology strategy, with a focus on customers' technology initiatives and the expanding arenas of broadband access technology, On Demand solutions, and OSS/BSS systems for converged delivery of multiple services and content on demand. Mr. Wright has more than 25 years leadership experience in implementing technology advances for both cable operators and broadband technology providers. Prior to joining C-COR, he was the Chief Technology Officer for 21e.net, where he was responsible for the development of a state-of-the-art broadband streaming media platform for broadcasting entertainment content over the Internet. He has also served as Chief Technical Officer for InterMedia Partners (later acquired by AT&T, Charter and Insight), the 9th largest multiple system cable operator (MSO) at the time, serving 1.2 million customers. Intermedia rebuilt its cable systems with fiber-rich two-way networks, and rolled out digital video and cable modem services across the company. Other industry positions have included business development, engineering management and operations positions in four additional cable operator organizations, including Jones Intercable. Mr. Wright has been a frequent invited speaker and panelist at broadband industry conferences. He has been a member of the National Cable Television Association (NCTA) Engineering Committee, the FCC Advisory Committee on Emergency Alerting, the CableLabs Enhanced Services Deployment and Technical Advisory Committees, and the Editorial Board for Communications Technology Magazine. He was also the founding Chairman of SCTE's (Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers) EAS (Emergency Alerting System) Committee and has been a member of a number of SCTE program committees supporting the Societys Emerging Technologies (ET) Conference and Cable-Tec Expo. Most recently, Mr. Wright was the Program Chair for ET2006. Mr. Wright received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Western Michigan University and a Master of Telecommunications Degree from the University of Denver.
Eran Wagner, VP, Portfolio Strategy and Planning, Amdocs Products Group: Er an Wagner is responsible for developing Amdocs overall product strategy, including portfolio planning, foundational products, product integration, demo capabilities, and the development of targeted solutions. He joined Amdocs in early 2004 as vice president - IPTV. His role has expanded from spearheading Amdocs IPTV initiatives to overseeing all Amdocs content products to, now, guiding the companys overall product strategy. Prior to Amdocs, Eran co-founded in 1997 XACCT Technologies Inc., which Amdocs acquired in 2004. He served most recently as the chairman of the Board of Directors and the executive vice president - Technology, responsible for the definition, creation and market introduction of all XACCT products, and for strategic alliances. Before XACCT, Eran co-founded the Xpert Group in 1993, and served as president and CEO. The Xpert Group specializes in system integration projects for the office automation, corporate networking and Internet/intranet environments. In three years, under Erans management, the company grew into a group with three companies, more than 200 clients and many simultaneous projects around the world. Prior to Erans initial business venture, he worked as a freelance programmer and served in the Israel Defense Forces as a computer programmer and system manager. He holds a Bachelors of Science degree from Tel-Aviv University and patents granted by the U.S. Patent Office, including one for a distributed network accounting and billing system and method. He is based in San Jose, California.
Ben Wagner, Director, Service Provider Strategic Marketing, Texas Instruments: Ben Wagner oversees worldwide IPTV and home gateway strategic marketing for TIs DSP Systems (DSPS) organization and works closely with European Service Providers to ensure TI develops solutions tailored to the new IPTV applications and services being planned and deployed throughout Europe. He develops worldwide relationships with key service providers, driving long term roadmap directions and investment strategies. Prior to this role, he served as the director of DSL marketing and business development for TIs DSL Business Unit within the companys Broadband Communications Group. Wagner has more than 24 years of experience in business development, strategic planning and marketing in the telecommunications industry. He has had extensive experience working with early stage and established telecom companies, developing their strategic plans, business models, marketing plans and guiding them through their life cycle. His functional involvements have spanned marketing, corporate and strategic marketing and planning, market development and product line management, corporate alliance and business development. Previously Wagner was vice president of marketing for TeleCentric, director of business development for Westwave Communications and held several executive management position posts at DSC Communications later acquired by Alcatel. He has also held several management roles at Siemens USA, Nortel and IBM Canada. Mr. Wagner earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He is a Professional Engineer and a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
Ron Stevenson, Media, Communications & Entertainment, Senior Vice President & Strategic Advisor, GE Commercial Finance: With 36 years of experience, Ron Stevenson is a veteran of the communications industry. Throughout the past 12 years as a vice president and industry advisor for GE Commercial Finance Global Media & Communications, Ron has performed technical and business plan assessments. He works with senior management teams leading telecom, wireless, cable and broadcasting companies worldwide to help develop and manage GEs $7+ billion media, communications, entertainment and technology portfolio. Before GE Commercial Finance, Ron held leadership positions throughout the 1980s in telecommunications management at the corporate headquarters of GE and PepsiCo. While at both conglomerates, he oversaw the development and operations of global voice, data and video networks. Ron began his communications career in 1972 on the carrier side by holding various engineering, operations and sales positions at AT&T and Western Union. Ron is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University with a degree in engineering and holds an MBA from Sacred Heart University.
