Video on the Internet has finally passed the critical threshold of acceptance by the advertising and marketing communities as a more than viable alternative to traditional media. Internet delivered video has not only entered the advertising space, it has invaded it and in a very short number of years, Internet delivered video will be a dominant entertainment and communications consumer medium. The scary part for traditional media, Internet delivered video may end up on a PC, a mobile device or on a TV and for the advertising and marketing industries, an emerging and maturing delivery system to an ever elusive audience is exactly what they are looking for. Keith Richman, CEO, Break.com: Keith Richman, a recognized industry leader an d successful entrepreneur, is chief executive officer for Break.com (formerly Big-Boys.com). Keith is responsible for providing the companys overall strategic direction and leading the company in the areas of business development and marketing. Since launching Break, Keith has grown the site to one of the worlds most trafficked online entertainment destinations with more than 13 million unique visitors and 600 million page impressions each month. He was a pioneer in enabling the use of video content on user-generated sites and was also the first to develop the paid content model for the user-generated market. Prior to co-founding Break.com, Keith was the Director of Business Development for Billpoint Inc. Keith was integral in developing the business plan and raising venture funding, which ultimately led to the companys successful acquisition by eBay in 1999. Previous posts also include Business Development Manager at Excite and Classifieds2000, as well as director of Corporate Planning at the Walt Disney Company, where he focused on consumer products, cable and emerging media. A sought-after panelist at top industry conferences, Keith is considered an leading expert in marketing to the coveted young male demographic; he was recently included in TV Weeks 2006 Hot List and recognized in the prestigious annual 40 Under 40 by Multichannel News. Keith holds an MA and a BA from Stanford in International Policy Studies and resides in Los Angeles with his wife.
Dr. Hossein Eslambolchi is chairman and CEO of Divvio Inc., a Web portal that allows users to build personalized channels of digital content by leveraging advanced adaptive learning technologies and Web 2.0 community behavior. He is also chairman of 2020 Venture Partners, which provides technology and operations consulting to private equity firms and venture capitalists in the area of telecommunications infrastructure. For nearly two decades, Dr. Eslambolchi led the transformation of AT&Ts network, systems and services. He left AT&T soon after its merger with SBC in late 2005. Dr. Eslambolchi served as AT&T's Chief Technology Officer and advised its top leaders on the formulation and implementation of a strategic technology vision from 2001 to 2005. Early on, he predicted that IP would eat everything and advocated an architecture that would allow all services to run on IP and work together with connectivity to any device. His recent published book 2020 Vision has set the foundation of communications industry over the next two decades. In addition to serving as CTO, Dr. Eslambolchi was also President of AT&Ts Global Networking Technology Services, President and CEO of AT&T Labs and Chief Information Officer, giving him end-to-end responsibility for implementing the companys technology and operational vision of 21st century. As President and CEO of AT&T Labs, he led a team of some of the worlds best scientists and engineers in developing an architecture that transformed AT&Ts legacy voice and data networks into a converged IP/MPLS network. As President of Global Network Services, Dr. Eslambolchi had responsibility for the design, development, engineering, operations and reliability of AT&T's global network, as well as for its Global Network Operations Center AT&Ts networking nerve center. As CIO, he provided the leadership that reengineered AT&Ts underlying information technology (IT) infrastructures. Dr. Eslambolchi has won numerous awards including the notable AT&T Science and Technology Medal, and became AT&T Fellow, the most prestigious technical award in AT&T communications. In 2001, he was named Inventor of the Year by the New Jersey Inventors Hall of Fame. He holds over 800 worldwide patents issued, pending and in preparation. Dr. Eslambolchi received his BS, MS and PH.D in Electrical Engineering from University of California, San Diego.
C.J. Kettler, Founder & CEO, LIME: C.J. Kettler is a media industry veteran with b road operating and investment experience. She founded and launched LIME, the #1 multiplatform healthy living brand, in November 2005. Under her direction, Ms. Kettler successfully launched the LIME brand across multiple platforms including broadband television, radio, mobile, online and home entertainment, making it the leading destination for consumers seeking a healthy, greener and more balanced lifestyle, and advertisers seeking to reach this "niche, but mass" consumer base. Kettler began her television career with nearly 10 years of experience in both domestic and international television programming, including 4 years at Vestron, where she created and developed the Childrens Video Library. She also held executive positions at MTV Networks, McCann-Erickson Inc., and CBS, Inc. From 1987 1999, Kettler was a Partner at Sunbow Entertainment, a top ranked independent program supplier, where, as President and CEO, she negotiated the sale of the company to Sony Music Entertainment. In her next position, as President of Sales and Marketing at Oxygen, Kettler managed all cross platform integrated marketing relationships as well as TV and online sponsorship sales, cable affiliate sales and research. Beginning in 2001, Kettler served as Operating Executive and Managing Director at Solera Capital, a private equity firm with $250 million under management. She was Co-President of Latina Magazine, one of Soleras portfolio companies, and also evaluated investment opportunities in the media industry. In 2003, Ms. Kettler co-founded Propeller Partners LLC, a boutique strategic advisory services firm serving a wide range of media and entertainment companies. Kettler holds a B.A. degree in Sociology from Smith College, and is a member of CTAM, WICT, and other industry organizations. She spends her weekends with her husband and three daughters getting in touch with the environment on an old family farm in Woodstock, New York. She is also passionate about healthy living and is an inveterate recycler and practicing yogi.
Kris Jacob, Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Business Developm ent, PodShow : Kris Jacob is the Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Business Development at PodShow, with responsibilities for shaping and fulfilling the advertising products for the family of brands comprising the PodShow Podcast Network. Kris Jacob brings considerable industry knowledge to his current post at PodShow, including a recent role in business development at Yahoo!, following the acquisition of Stata Labs, where Kris was the Vice President of Business Development. At Yahoo!, Jacob negotiated a product licensing agreement with Corel for Bloomba (now WordPerfect Mail 12), the critically-acclaimed search-based email product developed at Stata Labs. Prior to Stata Labs, Jacob was the Vice President of Business Development and Marketing at ActiveSky, where he negotiated media and carrier relationships for the wireless platform provider. Jacobs efforts resulted in such products as FOX Sports Mobile, and Itochu Corporations Excite! Sports in Japan. Prior to ActiveSky, Jacob was the Managing Director of Alterlayer, LLC, an early venture services company, where he provided strategic business development services for 12 early stage companies, including Weave Innovations (acquired by Kodak) and Keen.com (now Ingenio). While in the Strategic Partnerships organization at Microsoft, Jacob created and managed relationships with new media, broadcast and cable companies intersecting in InteractiveTV initiatives. Representing several product initiatives, Jacob created content development and delivery relationships with well known entertainment companies, such as HBO, Showtime, The Weather Channel, MSNBC, CBS, and HGTV. In an earlier product development role at SportsLine.com, Inc. (CBS SportsLine), Jacob served as the Director of Advanced Development, working on technical business development issues for that leading consumer Internet service. Other positions include, Vice President of Architecture Development at On Ramp, Inc., one of the worlds early web presence providers, working with Reebok, Budweiser, MGM, Sprint and AT&T, and Director, CER Diagnostics and Human Factors Engineering at Sun Microsystems, Inc.
Tom Wilde, CEO, PodZinger: Tom Wilde is a widely recognized leader in the field of Internet search and online advertising, and prior to becoming PodZingers CEO has held numerous leadership roles in the field including SVP/GM of the Consumer Division at domain portfolio company NameMedia, senior vice president and general manager of MIVA Inc.'s North American division, responsible for both MIVA's U.S. online advertising network as well as the company's consumer business, and senior operating roles managing Terra Lycos' global search & publishing divisions. Tom has also served on the IAB Search Engine Committee and holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Nancy Dunn - Vice President, Advertising Strategy ClipSyndicate: Nan Dunn is responsible for the strategy, implementation and advertising sales for ClipSyndicate. Prior to ClipSyndicate, Ms. Dunn was with AOL for 7 years where she was most recently Director of Business Strategy and Operations in the Sales Development group. There she developed and led the implementation of AOL's advertising inventory strategy and helped lead AOL's transition to a new ad serving system. Ms. Dunn also held account management and strategy positions at AOL. Before joining AOL, Ms. Dunn was with Time Inc. where she launched a commerce system that enabled subscription sales online.
Bart Feder is CEO and President of The FeedRoom, the leading digital media communications company that enables clients to communicate more effectively with video online as well as through other technology platforms and devices. Before becoming CEO of The FeedRoom, Bart served as the company's Senior Vice President and General Manager. He joined The FeedRoom in June 2000 following 25 years in broadcast management and production, most recently as News Director at WABC-TV, the Disney/ABC flagship station in New York. Before entering news management in 1986, Bart was a newscast and specials producer in New York and Boston and received several Emmy and Associated Press Awards and an International Film and Television Festival of New York Gold Medal for Newscast Production. Bart, his wife and three children reside in Ridgewood, New Jersey.
