The mobile device is the unique personal platform. That may seem to be stating the obvious, after all, a phone is by definition a private and highly personal form of expression. But the mobile device of the present and future is more than a phone, it is a fully personalized mobile communications and entertainment experience, connected to the web, connected to a voice, text and video network, able to as easily put the user in a phone conversation as it is able to assist in shopping tasks and social networking activities. The personalized mobile experience only begins with the million bizarre ways that a cell phones rings. In the future, the mobile experience, will be as complex as the personal imagination.

Steve Greenberg, Chief of Strategy for Messaging and Community Products, AOL: Steve Greenberg is Chief of Strategy for Messaging and Community Products at AOL, where he has also developed both web and technology strategies, and managed instant messaging and community products. Previously he managed the engineering and services groups for a startup in the wine industry, and was a senior engineer at Epinions.com. He was a Principal Consultant for Netscape Communications where he founded and ran the Knowledge Management practice. After spending an unspecified number years doing unspecified things for unspecified government agencies, he returned to the world with an MS in Computer Information Systems from Boston University. He also spent several years writing financial services software.
Joe Fabris, Director of Wireless Solutions, Palm, Inc.: As Palms Director of Wireless Solutions, Joe Fabris is responsible for developing and implementing go-to-market strategies for the companys enterprise customers. He joined Palm through the merger of Handspring and palmOne in 2003. Before working in the handheld and smartphone world, Mr. Fabris worked for ten years at Microsoft in various positions, including Systems Engineer, Sales Executive, and Marketing Director. He received the Chairmans Award from Bill Gates in 1992 and 1997 for being the countrys top sales executive. Prior to Microsoft, he spent five years at IBM as a Mechanical Engineer and Marketing Representative. Mr. Fabris holds a BS in engineering and an MBA from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Villa Montalvo, and The Tech Museum of Innovation.
Shawn Conahan, Founder, Chairman and CEO, Intercasting: Shawn Conah an is an accomplished entrepreneur and skilled manager with a track record of success in the mobile industry and digital media space and serves as the founder, chairman and CEO of Intercasting. Prior to founding Intercasting Corporation, Conahan was president and chief executive of Moviso, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vivendi Universal. Under Conahans leadership, Moviso grew into the largest ringtone provider in North America by the time it was sold in December 2003 for $25mm. From 1999 to 2001, Conahan was at MP3.com, first as the launch manager of the controversial my.mp3.com service and ultimately serving as vice president and GM of the MP3 Mobile division. During his tenure at MP3.com, he was responsible for successfully building the infrastructure and establishing the agreements to distribute MP3.coms content to non-PC devices. Prior to MP3.com Conahan was the global program manager at Universal Music Group to assist with the Polygram post-merger technical integration. Conahans other previous positions include senior manager at BDO Seidman Management Consulting, where he focused on the growth and management challenges of middle-market public and private organizations; and he was the associate consultant at The Warner Group, a consulting firm where Shawn excelled in the communications infrastructure practice deploying regional wireless communications systems. Conahan received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University, Northridge.
Anup Murarka is director, technical marketing, Mobile and Devices at Adobe S ystems Inc. and is responsible for defining strategy and direction for Adobe's mobile agenda. Murarka comes to Adobe from its acquisition of Macromedia, where he was responsible for marketing in the Mobile and Devices group. Prior to Macromedia, Murarka worked at OpenTV, where he was involved in all aspects of developing OpenTV's solution offering. He was an active spokesperson for the company with customers, technology and financial analysts and industry events. Prior to OpenTV, Murarka was vice president at Spyglass, Inc., holding management roles in engineering, professional services and sales. Murarka has also held engineering and management positions at technology companies including Apple Computer, The 3DO Company and SurfWatch. During his time at Macromedia, Anup spoke at a number of key industry events - both as a presenter and panel participant. Anup has presented at wireless shows including CES Game Power, MAX, DigitalHollywood and the SmartPhone Summit. Murarka has spent a number of years developing video games and marketing embedded software to consumer electronics manufacturers. His professed affinity for shiny new gadgets keeps him on the hunt for new toys during monthly trips to Tokyo's electronic district, Akihabara.
Brett Crossley, VP of Sales and Marketing, Experience Group, Packet Video: As VP of Sales and Marketing for the Experience group at PacketVideo, Brett is responsible for market direction for mobile entertainment experience services. Brett came to PacketVideo through the acquisition of Tusonic, a music personalization, information and community software company where he was a founder. PacketVideo is the worldwide leader in mobile multimedia client software and PacketVideo clients power numerous mobile multimedia services including Verizon's VCAST. Prior to Tusonic, Brett was product manager in charge of IBM's Content Management integration products that brought together image, audio, video, and text content from multiple content management platforms.
Peg Jackson, Managing Director, NeoCarta Ventures: Peg Jackson joined NeoCa rta Ventures in May 2000. Her responsibilities include making investments in the technology sector and managing the portfolio. She is on the board of several companies, including DataSynapse, Silverpop, Cendura and Zoom. Prior to joining NeoCarta Ventures, Peg Jackson was Vice-President of Business Development at NBC. She joined NBC in 1996, where her primary responsibilities included making investments in Internet and Interactive TV companies. In addition she managed a production group that developed NBCs interactive TV programming. Prior to NBC, Jackson worked in the business development group at Reuters New Media, Inc., where she managed new acquisition and joint venture projects. Jackson was also employed as a Media Analyst for the Toronto Dominion Bank. Jackson received a BA in Economics from Georgetown University and an MBA from New York University.
