Michael Kernan,
Vice President, ICM: Based in the Los Angeles office of ICM, Michael leads and coordinates the company's digital and new media assets, including working with ICM's London and New York offices. With its recent acquisition of The Broder Webb Chervin Silbermann Agency, ICM is the premier agency for creators of television and new media programming. Michael joined ICM in 2000, and has packaged numerous new media projects. He has been a leader in Internet deal making, in addition to developing content for the new media platform. Michael is a strategic advisor for technology and new media company clients on growth and financing. Prior to ICM, Michael practiced entertainment law at Lavely & Singer and Behr Abramson & Kaller, and consulted on patents and patent related issues at Gauntlet and Associates. Michael completed his undergraduate studies at The University of Illinois, and attended The University of California, Hastings College of Law, where he served as the Executive Associate Editor of "The Hastings Entertainment Law Review."


Douglas A. Lee, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Digital Media, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc.: Douglas A. Lee is the Executive Vice President of the newly formed Digital Media division of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. (MGM). Mr. Lee brings over 20 years of experience as a senior executive in the global entertainment business to MGM. Lee’s career highlights include the launch of HD Cinema for VOOM; the creation of Noggin, the first educational children’s network and a joint venture between Sesame Workshop and Nickelodeon; founding CRIME, a broadband platform that was sold to USA Cable; and spearheading News Corp.’s acquisition of Star-TV, the leading satellite platform in Asia. Most recently, Lee was the founder of Lee Consulting Company in New York and served as a consultant to major media companies including Comcast, Court TV and The Hinduja Group, the largest multiple system operator in India. Lee was also an executive at Universal Television, where he served as General Manager and Head of CRIME, the first 24-hour cable network dedicated to the crime genre. CRIME was a broadband extension of CRIME.COM, a company Lee founded with John Langley, the Executive Producer and Creator of the long-running Fox television series, "Cops." Lee also worked for many years at 20th Century Fox Film Corporation, where he initially served as Vice President of Pay Television Worldwide and then held several senior executive positions at the film studio, on the Fox Corporate Staff and the parent company, News Corporation. In 1991, Lee took charge of Fox International and spearheaded News Corp.’s entry into the satellite television business in Asia and Latin America. Mr. Lee was involved in the creation of other News Corp owned cable networks and satellite platforms including FX (U.S.), Canal Fox (Latin America) and Sky Movies (U.K.). He also headed his own television production company that developed content for Fox Television. After graduating from law school, Lee spent several years at HBO in New York where he served as a Programming and New Business Development executive specializing in the creation and launching of several cable television networks including Cinemax, Festival and The Comedy Channel (now Comedy Central.) He began his television career at WNYW-TV, Fox Television where he worked as an Associate Producer/Assignment Editor/Newswriter on "The 10 O’Clock News." Lee earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of California, Berkeley and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C.

Erik Flannigan, Senior Vice President, Digital Media, COMEDY CENTRAL and Spike TV: Erik Flannigan is senior vice president, digital media, COMEDY CENTRAL® and Spike TV™. He is based at the networks' New York City headquarters and reports to Doug Herzog, president of MTV Networks Entertainment Group. In this role Flannigan is responsible for overseeing all of the networks' digital media initiatives and maximizing digital revenue growth opportunities, as well as supervising the COMEDY CENTRAL and Spike TV digital media teams while representing the channels' interests within MTV Networks. In addition, Flannigan oversees Atom Films and Addicting Clips, VIACOM's newly-acquired popular video-streaming sites. Flannigan brings a wealth of experience in digital programming and content development to the job, with a deep and varied business background in Web development, digital media, video-on-demand as well as online and offline subscription services. He is a seasoned manager of multi-disciplinary teams and has extensive hands-on experience in creative editorial and content specialization for movies, music, television, sports and news. "We're extremely fortunate to have Erik at the helm in this critical role," said Herzog. "He is a talented executive who brings solid experience and expertise to the job along with a sophisticated understanding of digital media trends. He has a real vision of how all of our brands can best capitalize on the opportunities in this rapidly evolving world." Prior to joining MTVN Flannigan worked at AOL, where he was responsible for strategic and operational oversight of Moviefone.com, AOL Music, AOL Radio and AOL Television. From 2003-2005 he was with Buena Vista Datacasting/The Walt Disney Company in Burbank, CA as vice president of programming, overseeing programming and acquisitions for MovieBeam. Before that, Flannigan was vice president of music services and programming at RealNetworks in Seattle (2001-2003), where his responsibilities included operational and financial oversight of music-based services and shared management of video-based services. He was a senior vice president with Entertainment Verticals, the Walt Disney Internet Group in Seattle from 1995-2001. During his various tenures in the digital media world, Flannigan was also active in publishing as managing editor of ICE magazine, contributing editor of The Rocket as well as working on several albums and books. He is a graduate of the University Washington in Seattle.

Chris Monteleone is currently Director of Digital Development for Rainbow Media, a subsidiary of Cablevision Corporation (NYSE:CVC) located in Manhattan. In his role he is charged with developing business opportunities and partnerships with interactive media companies in the mobile, internet and emerging platform sectors of the business. Rainbow Media consists of four nationally distributed networks (AMC, IFC, WE, FUSE), which comprise over 250MM homes in aggregate. In addition, Chris is responsible for building the companies digital strategy around it's VOOM HD property as well as Madison Square Garden and it's sports teams. Chris has held positions at Cablevision, E! Entertainment Networks, The Game Show Network and Rainbow Media.

Richard Hull has successfully created, packaged and produced not only studio movies, but also television series, independent films and award-winning documentaries – all primarily geared towards youth and young adult audiences. Currently, Rich is leading the creation of Warner Bros.' first-ever slate of original programming for digital and wireless audiences. Rich's film credits include the Miramax smash hit SHE'S ALL THAT (which debuted with an opening weekend box office larger than any previous Miramax film and is one of the most successful teen movies in history with almost $200 million in worldwide revenues), the Miramax romantic comedy GET OVER IT (starring Kirsten Dunst, Martin Short and music star, Sisqo), Lion's Gate's teen horror AMERICAN PSYCHO II (the follow-up to the critically acclaimed AMERICAN PSYCHO) and Miramax's romantic comedy ON THE LINE (starring *NSYNC's Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Justin Timberlake, which was accompanied by a soundtrack that included Britney Spears, *NSYNC and many more). The latter film led him to co-found the high profile production company, A Happy Place, with music mega-manager Johnny Wright (manager of Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, *NSYNC, Boyz To Men and P. Diddy) and *NSYNC star Lance Bass. Rich's television projects include the star-studded documentary salute to African-American U.S. soldiers FOR LOVE OF LIBERTY for Showtime (hosted by Halle Berry with Mel Gibson, Bill Cosby, Morgan Freeman, Danny Glover, Robert Duvall, James Garner, John Goodman, Colin Powell, Susan Sarandon and many others / in post-production), the first season of Showtime's first-ever primetime animated series FREE FOR ALL (starring Jeremy Piven and Juliette Lewis), MTV's FRONTSIDE, MTV's HE’S THE MAYOR, MTV's CAMPUS COPS and many others. In the independent film arena, Rich has arranged financing for and produced films which include Starz / Showtime’s action-adventure JEKYLL ISLAND (which premiered on Starz!, later debuted on Showtime and was one of the first films acquired by Blockbuster under its in-house DEJ label), Fox Sports Network’s THE STORY OF DARRELL ROYAL (the star-studded, multi-award-winning documentary, which is hosted by Matthew McConaughey with Willie Nelson and President George W. Bush), the independent sports film MULLIGAN MEN (starring comedian Paul Goebel), USA Network / New City Releasing's comedy WITHIN THE LINES (starring Noah Blake) and the Sundance Channel's drama THE SPARTANS (which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival). Rich is a member of the University of Texas Hollywood Advisory Council and is an Extension Professor in the Entertainment Studies Department at UCLA. He supports The Young Storytellers Program charity, has volunteered his time to oversee on-screen projects for hi-profile charity causes such as President Clinton's The White House Initiative on Race and established The Mike Campbell Scholarship Fund at The University of Texas. He has authored and lectured extensively on Hollywood, finance and technology, and he is featured frequently as an industry expert in the press, including outlets such as Daily Variety, Hollywood Reporter, Broadcasting & Cable, Entertainment Weekly and many others. He writes on Hollywood-related issues for the digital content strategies magazine eContent. Rich is a native Texan and a graduate of Vanderbilt University. He began his career producing national television commercials and music videos for Warner Bros., New Line, Six Flags Theme Parks, Looney Toons and many, many more.

Mark Kapczynski has a successful track record as a serial entrepreneur, chief executive and media industry expert. His current venture, Kontrol Media Corp., is an idea incubator for startups and senior professionals in the media and technology markets including Web 2.0, mobile, and television. Prior to that, he was founder and CEO of MESoft, a media and entertainment software company, for which Kapczynski raised two rounds of seed and venture capital funding exceeding $8MM. Under his leadership, the company also grew its distribution to a global level and partnered with leading IT companies, such as IBM, Sun and AMD, and media companies that include Avid, Ascent Media and Sony. Additionally, he received a patent for a digital media workflow process. From 1995 to 2002, Kapczynski worked at Microsoft Corporation as their Director of Worldwide Media & Entertainment Solutions Group. During that time, he worked with numerous digital media and internet start-ups such as Homestore (now Move.com), Movielink, and MeTV. Mark Kapczynski got his first taste at being an entrepreneur in 1993 when he founded Digital Genesis-a pioneer in the internet/e-commerce space-which was sold to publicly-traded Netgateway, Inc. (NGWY, now IIG) three years later. Mr. Kapczynski graduated from UCLA film school and continues to be active in multiple industry associations that span media, mobile telecom, technology, and Internet Web 2.0. In his free time, Mr. Kapczynski enjoys car racing and playing the drums.
