In this session, we will address the impact and meaning of DTV and its unlimited choice implications – from a programming, from a bundling, from an advertising and from a marketing point of view. Craig Knudsen, Director, Product Marketing TANDBERG Television: As director of product marketing focused on content distribution, Mr. Knudsen is responsible for TANDBERG’s extensive line of content distribution solutions. Mr. Knudsen brings ten years of experience in the telecom, datacom and video industries to TANDBERG Television. Prior to joining TANDBERG Television Mr. Knudsen was the product marketing manager at Tellabs responsible for all US tier 2 & 3 carrier markets. In addition to marketing expertise, Mr. Knudsen has extensive sales experience as an executive account manager for Advanced Fibre Communications (AFC), acquired by Tellabs in 2004. Mr. Knudsen has successfully sold and marketed data, core, transport and access solutions (including IPTV) to many carriers including: Sprint LTD, Alltel, CenturyTel, TDS, Frontier and others. As well as marketing experience, Mr. Knudsen has a broad background in sales engineering and operations with AFC. His successful history in solutions sales and marketing makes Mr. Knudsen a key member of the TANDBERG Television team. Craig holds a B.S. in Marketing from California State University, Chico.

Ford Cavallari is a Partner at Monitor, where he focuses on serving clients in the telecommunications, digital media and technology sectors. He assists service providers, device manufacturers and media companies achieve breakthrough performance in the consumer and small business segments by leveraging broadband, value added services, and digital content distribution. Mr. Cavallari also counsels senior teams on a range of strategic and operational issues related to broadband connectivity and content distribution, and has 20 years of experience in consulting and technology line management. Prior to joining Monitor, Ford Cavallari was a Senior Vice President at ADVENTIS, where he led the North American business and also led the Consumer and Small & Medium Business Practice (including the Broadband and Media practice). Prior to joining ADVENTIS, Mr. Cavallari founded Village Software, a leading supplier of on-line extensions for the for Microsoft Office and various Lotus, Borland, and Corel applications. Mr. Cavallari's past executive positions have included Director of Product Line Marketing for Lotus Development Corporation, and senior positions at Newsweek and Exxon. Mr. Cavallari received his A.B. in Mathematics magna cum laude from Dartmouth College, and his MBA from Harvard Business School.

Sal Arora, Senior Director of Product Management, Microsoft TV, Microsoft Corp.: As senior director of product management at Microsoft TV, Sal Arora is responsible for the product strategy and value proposition for Microsoft TV IPTV Edition. Microsoft TV IPTV Edition is an integrated and comprehensive software platform developed specifically to deliver broadcast-quality video and new, integrated TV services over broadband networks. The platform combines market-leading features such as instant channel change (ICC) and multiple picture-in-picture (PIP) with traditional TV services such as broadcast programming, VOD, and DVR. Arora joined Microsoft in 2001 and has served in various engineering leadership roles resulting in the launch of Microsoft Interactive Program Guide and Microsoft TV Foundation Edition. Microsoft TV Foundation Edition is currently deployed with Comcast and in various locations in Latin America. Previously, Arora has spent over 12 years in various early stage companies in executive leadership and technology strategy roles. Arora was co-founder and CEO of ibizu, an early stage social networking company creating online collaborative spaces based on social functions. Arora was co-founder and Chief Technology Architect at NetObjects, a Web software and services company. NetObjects was ranked by Softletter 100 as one of the top 100 software companies, and was named one of Fortune Magazine’s 25 Very Cool companies in 1996. Arora holds a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from University of California, Berkeley. In his spare time, Arora enjoys skiing, improvisational theater, flying and spending time with his wife and two children in San Francisco.

Sefy Ariely, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Orca Interactive: Sefy Ariely has over 10 years of experience in business management in IPTV, including marketing, sales and business development. Sefy has been a vocal part of this growing industry, speaking at numerous industry events on a variety of subjects that have shaped the way IPTV has unfolded. As VP of Sales and Marketing, Mr. Ariely is responsible for Orca’s sales, marketing, business development and product analysis activities.











David Hunt, Director, Business Development, Conklin-Intracom: Dave has held numerous positions in R&D, sales, marketing, accounting, program management, regulatory affairs and business development for both service providers and vendors over the past 30 years. In addition to a number of startups, Dave’s professional career includes Nortel Networks where he was part of the team that developed and introduced the precursor to Optical Ethernet, Tellabs, Telus and CNCP Telecommunications where his team designed and deployed Canada’s first multi-service network and Canada’s first competitive long distance voice service. In his current position Dave is responsible for Conklin-Intracom’s triple play products in the Americas, concentrating on the identification and the delivery of solutions that meet emerging content needs.






Matt Cuson, VP Marketing, Minerva Networks: Mr. Cuson brings over 25 years of marketing experience spanning consumer, enterprise, software, systems and web applications markets. Prior to Minerva, Mr. Cuson consulted with both start-ups and established companies to define product roadmaps, launch new products, and develop effective positioning for entering new markets. Mr. Cuson started his marketing career with Hewlett-Packard where he launched the first LaserJet printer into the European market. After stints in the corporate strategic marketing group and driving HP's early efforts in the desktop publishing market, Matt left HP to join Adaptec. Matt managed Adaptec's first major company acquisition and grew the business nearly tenfold in just two years. Matt holds a BA degree from the University of California, San Diego in Management Science with a minor in Biology.
