Advertising is finally discovering and finding its way into the next generation of technology media and entertainment industries. Broadband, mobile, IPTV, cable and interactive TV and of course in games, ads and branded information are being delivered in many forms. The technologies behind ad-insertion, ad serving, on-demand technologies and a full host of back-end management technologies are enabling greater creativity and enhanced options in the relationship between technology and advertising. In this session, we will open an ongoing conversation of how technologies are evolving, where they are heading and how the advertising and branding industries will gain further technology traction.

Karen Feldman, Global Media and Entertainment Industry Leader for the Institute f or Business Value (IBV) and Senior Managing Consultant within IBMs Business Consulting Services Media and Entertainment practice. Karen has over ten years of corporate strategy, management consulting and marketing experience. For the IBV, Karen oversees IBMs thought leadership program on Media and Entertainment. As a strategy consultant with PwC and IBM, Karen has led multiple engagements in the areas of: strategic business planning, new product and new company launches, market and competitive assessments, digital strategies, customer growth and marketing strategies, and customer segmentation and analytics. She has worked with clients across the media value chain, from content owners, to publishers, distributors, online aggregators, retailers and agencies. Prior to joining IBM Business Consulting Services, Karen held marketing roles, at Circuit City and American Express. She holds an M.B.A. from New York University, Stern School of Business, and a B.B.A. from Emory University.
Louis Moynihan, Director, Strategy and Development, Pheedo: A pioneer in RSS advertising, Louis Moynihan is the brains behind Pheedo's most comprehensive and successful integrated RSS marketing campaigns for top-shelf advertisers such as Citrix, Microsoft, and Adobe. Prior to Pheedo, Louis held online media buying and strategy roles at 24/7 Media, Sift Technologies, and, most recently, NetHawk, where he was charged with developing strategic online advertising initiatives and where he spearheaded all online media buying for NetHawk's prestigious list of software clients such as Microsoft, Hyperion, and VeriSign. An early evangelist for Internet marketing, in 1997, Louis managed digital photography for OralB websites and GE websites, which, naturally led to his early involvement in web design best practices. Soon after, he shifted his focus from design to outreach, this driving traffic to websites once they'd been published. He is an early pioneer in exploring RSS advertising as a viable option. In 2003, he was one of the first to discuss, and conduct, a successful RSS ad campaign.
Jayant Kadambi, CEO and Founder, YuMe: Mr. Kadambi is currently co-founder and CEO of Yume Networks, a next-generation video advertising startup company that he co-founded in 2004 with Ayyappan Sankaran. Mr. Kadambi has over 18 years of experience in the areas of online advertising, networking, and video network architecture. Most recently, he was V.P. R&D and Officer of Netopia, Inc., a publicly held manufacturer of DSL equipment and service provider for ISPs and carriers. Prior to that, Mr. Kadambi was co-founder of StarNet Technologies a VoIP and VoDSL company that was acquired by Netopia in 1999. Prior to co-founding StarNet, Mr. Kadambi held various technical and marketing positions in AMDs networks division, and AT&T Bell Labs, where he worked on high-speed LAN systems, hardware and DSL technologies Mr. Kadambi is the co-author of a book on Gigabit Ethernet and the holder of several patents in the networking infrastructure area
JONATHAN WEITZ, Principal, IBB Consulting, Jonathan is a principal with IB B Consulting, where he is responsible for leading pioneering initiatives from strategic analysis and business model definition to organization and operations design. Jonathan works closely with senior leadership to coordinate complex, cross-division programs in the media, cable and wireless industries. Jonathan is a seasoned business strategy, operations and change consultant, with experience in Broadband Media Strategy, Product and Service Strategy, Market Entry, Marketing and Sales Effectiveness, Customer Acquisition/Retention, Portfolio Management, M&A Due Diligence, IT Strategy, Organization Design and Change Management. Jonathan has led initiatives which drive revenue through monetization of broadband content. He has published white-papers and articles on topics pertinent to the Media industry such as Broadband TV and has conducted research on global trends in advanced advertising and mobile content. Over the course of his career he has advised companies such as Comcast and Viacom. Prior to joining IBB Consulting, Jonathan was a manager in BearingPoint's strategy practice. He holds a BA in Organizational Psychology and Communications from the University of Michigan and a Masters in Business Administration from New York University.
Lissette Fernandez, Interactive Strategy Director, VENABLES BELL & PARTNERS: A multi-media veteran, Lissettes had her hands in all things interactive for nearly 15 years. As a senior marketing and client services professional with proven experience in Internet and wireless communications, product development, technical production, strategic relationships and general management, theres not much shell shy away from when it comes to the digital space. At VBP, Lissette bridges the gap between our strategy team and interactive production group. She works side by side our planning, media and creative departments and thoughtfully weighs in on everything from briefs to media plans to information architecture and campaign optimization reports to ensure Interactive is never an after-thought for clients like Audi, HBO and PG&E. Shes also tasked with tirelessly examining the volatile digital landscape to develop, recommend and execute interactive strategy and experiential marketing programs. If its interactive, shell make her voice heard. Just ask her former colleagues in Miami where she spent 6 years moonlighted as voice-over talent at the same place she managed to keep her day-job: VP of Marketing Solutions and Client Services, Univision Online. At Univision, Inc., she led clients like CocaCola, GM, Verizon, Unilever, Nintendo, McDonalds and Nestle through the unfamiliar territory of marketing to online Hispanics. A valued leader with a multi-million dollar P&L, she also led Interactive marketing strategy across the Univision TV, Cable, Mobile, Radio and Music brands. Lissettes digital career started in back in San Francisco in the mid-90s where she sharpened her digital chops at Razorfish. Starting out as a Jr Producer, at a time in which she remembers seeing the first URL advertised on TV, she left several years later with an Executive Producer title and several award-wining projects under her belt.
Paul Bowlin, Director of Video Advertising, SpotXchange: Paul brings over two decades of expertise in traditional and interactive advertising sales to Booyah. As the director of the companys New York office he manages relationships with the East Coast advertising community for the SpotXchange division. His responsibilities include building awareness and acceptance in the advertising community for buying/selling online video advertising in the SpotXchange self-service marketplace. His focus also includes working with the industry to establish best practices for effective online video advertising methods. Paul is actively involved in the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), lending his knowledge and experience to the Digital Video Audience Measurement and the Ad Sizes task forces. Before joining Booyah, Paul was a director of sales at BrightSpot. His experience includes working with innovative broadband advertising companies including broadcast.com (now part of Yahoo), Lightningcast, and FMiTV Networks. Paul graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Nasson College.
Tony Nethercutt, Vice President of Sales, AdMob: Tony is responsible for executing AdMob's revenue strategy, building the sales team and managing agency relationships. Tony is a leader in interactive advertising and considered an expert in both media and creative targeting with more than 20 highly successful years of sales experience. Prior to AdMob Tony was VP of Ad Sales at YouTube (acquired by Google) where he led the hypergrowth of the advertising sales team. Previously Tony was Director of Media Strategies at Yahoo!, VP of Business for Carat Interactive and managed the DoubleClick Network Sales office in San Francisco. His television advertising experience included managing the San Francisco office for New World/Fox Television Sales and doing local sales for both KGO-TV/ABC and KGTV/ABC. Tony earned his BS degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
