Carlos Montalvo is the Chief Marketing Officer at Virage, Inc. Carlos joined Virage in 1998 to lead their product and marketing organizations. Over the past two years he has helped Virage bring to market such products as the Virage VideoLogger(TM), the Virage Video Application Server(TM) and the Virage Internet Video Guide(TM). Today, these products are redefining how content owners publish, manage and syndicate video on the Web. Prior to joining Virage, Carlos was corporate vice president of Apple Computer's Interactive Media Group, where he was responsible for Apple's suite of QuickTime technologies and products, including QuickTime, QuickTimeVR, QuickDraw3D and QuickTimeTV. As director of marketing for Apple's Entry Systems division, he led the product management and introduction of Apple's first integrated video-in/video-out architecture for consumer PCs. Prior to Apple he held several positions at Xerox, including program lead for the Xerox J-Star project. Carlos began his career in government service where he served as a presidential appointee with the Reagan Administration and held several positions at the National Science Foundation.



Dan Agan is Vice President, Corporate Market Development for Convera, a leading provider of digital content management software and solutions. As such, Dan maintains a current and comprehensive knowledge of industry "best practices" and technologies that enable entertainment companies, broadcasters and other media-rich content owners to extract maximum value from existing content. Dan has over twenty years of experience in television including 15 years with the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) where he served in a variety of capacities, most notably as Senior Vice President for National Programming and Promotion.











Eric Rehm, CTO, Singingfish/Thomson Multimedia: Eric Rehm has worked for more than 20 years in the computer industry, specializing in engineering the convergence of computing and entertainment media. With his experience in computer engineering, computer science and digital convergence, Rehm is responsible for the company's technical vision and for putting in place the technical architecture that enables Singingfish search technology to function across PC, wireless, television and other computer and entertainment platforms. Prior to founding Singingfish, Rehm was responsible for designing and implementing the system software for Equator Technologies; MAP1000 multimedia processor. Before joining Equator, Rehm served at Digital Equipment Corporation for nine years, where he worked as a principal engineer on the initial implementation of Windows NT on Digital’s Alpha platforms. Rehm holds an MS in Computer, Information and Control Engineering from the University of Michigan, and a BS in Electrical!

Robert Griffin, President and CEO, eMotion:Mr. Griffin joined PNI in January 1998. He is a senior executive with more than 20 years progressive consulting and management experience. He has been involved with building and leading consulting and systems integration organizations, corporate and enterprise business re-engineering, and executive leadership since 1973. During his 16 years at Digital Equipment Corporation, Mr. Griffin was the Vice President and CIO for the Accounts Business Unit, a $2 billion division that focused on Digital's largest corporate clients. Prior to that he held the position of Eastern Region Vice President for Digital Consulting, responsible for a 700 person organization with over $250 million of annual billings. In 1993, Mr. Griffin was selected to build the World-wide Media Business Segment, part of Digital's new Customer Business Unit. Mr. Griffin managed a worldwide organization that worked with Clients, Partners and Chief Executives to develop and deliver solutions, strategies and programs focused on the Media industries. In 1995, as an executive vice president and corporate officer for Norstan Communications, Mr. Griffin was recruited to build a Systems Integration Division focused on providing a full suite of integrated solutions around voice, video and data. During his tenure at Norstan Mr. Griffin's division grew in revenue 50% quarter over quarter. Mr. Griffin was one of the founding partners of Internet Business Advantages, Inc., a professional services company with the focus on creating business advantages using Internet technology within and between companies, organizations, and individuals. Mr. Griffin did his undergraduate studies in Business Management at Franklin Pierce College in New Hampshire. He has completed the Advanced International Management Program at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.

Max Bloom is a streaming media consultant and founder of Integrated Streaming, a media services company based in Santa Monica, California. He has an extensive background in broadcast television and film as a writer, producer and technical director for major studios and networks including CBS, ABC, NBC, 20th Century Fox, and Sony (Columbia-Tristar). Max writes frequently on streaming media business applications for websites and publications including Streamingmedia.com and Streaming Media magazine.
