Bill Flitter is the founder and CMO of Pheedo and well-known in the blogosphere. He has been an entrepreneur since 1996 and has started and helped build numerous early stage companies which have and are developing hundreds of innovate products and services. Flitter has over 10 years of consumer marketing expertise. Flitter founded BTE Direct/Email Shopping Network from his "garage" right at the time the dot com craze ended. His perseverance was rewarded when Email Shopping Network was acquired by eUniverse (Nasdaq: EUNI) in 2002. Since then, he is on the Board of Directors of four companies, most recently joining Pheedo. Pheedo specializes in RSS, blog and podcast advertising, helping publishers and advertisers understand and use these new media formats as advertising channels. Pheedo has been working for nearly two years to perfect its technology and has conducted numerous campaigns for such companies as Subaru, Citrix and Sun. Pheedo's clients include several high profile, cutting edge advertising agencies and over 8000 publishers. Recently they have worked with news publisher Hollywood.com and have done campaigns for Warner Bros. Music.
Jeremy Stoppelman, Co-Founder and CEO, Yelp: Jeremy is Co-Founder and CEO of Yelp. Previously, Jeremy was VP of Technology at PayPal, which was acquired by eBay. Between Yelp and PayPal, Jeremy was a student at Harvard Business School. He elected to put off his last year of business school to start Yelp. Jeremy graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in computer science.
Walker Fenton is the General Manager for NewsGator's Private Label business. Walker began his career in the Internet working for Netcom Online Communications, the first nationwide, dial up Internet Service Provider, and has since been involved with several other start ups including dbDoctor, Inc. and Xaffire, Inc. Walker received a BA in Economics from Colby College, and has an MBA from Regis University.
Eric Newman - Vice President & General Manager, Portal Solutions, Pluck: Eric has a history of delivering successful embedded solutions for leading Internet and software companies. Prior to joining Pluck, Eric ran product management for data integration provider Pervasive (PVSW). He previously served as vice president of marketing at Powered, a provider of embedded internet marketing solutions. He was also director of portal solutions at AskJeeves (ASKJ) and served in various management roles at Lotus/DataBeam and Convergys. Eric earned his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and his undergraduate degree in Marketing and Management Information Systems from the University of Cincinnati.
Mike McGuire, Research Vice President, Mobile Device & Consumer Services, Dataqu est. He is responsible for the Media team's coverage of the online music segment, and of the legal and regulatory issues facing media companies. Topics included in his research agenda include consumer adoption of online music services, the effects of P2P technologies on the media-industry and emerging business models. Mr. McGuire and Allen Weiner are responsible for Gartner's "Media Titans" research thread. He is also Gartner's research liaison with the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard Law School. Before re-joining Gartner in 2000, Mr. McGuire worked with mobile computing start-ups in the Bay Area and Southern California. He was at Dataquest from 1994 through 1997 as senior and principal analyst for the mobile computing program. B.A., Journalism, San Jose State University
Howard Kaushansky, founder, President and CEO, Umbria: Howard Kaushansky is a serial entrepreneur and data mining authority who brings 20 years of experience in starting and operating emerging growth companies. Prior to founding Umbria, Howard co-founded and served as CEO, secretary and vice president of business development for Athene Software, which developed enterprise predictive analytics software. Among other things, his expertise was key in opening vital market segments for Athene, including Internet and cable television;. Howard successfully guided the sale of Athene to CSG Systems (NASDAQ: CSGS) in 2001. From 1992 to 1997, Howard was VP of Strategic Planning, General Counsel and Secretary of Coral Systems, Inc., which developed fraud detection software for the telecommunications industry. His work with Athene included establishing distribution channels with industry-leading infrastructure providers, generating 70% of the company's revenues. Coral Systems was sold to Lightbridge (NASDAQ: LTBG) in 1997. Prior to joining Coral Systems, Howard was an attorney representing numerous public and private companies. He holds several patents and has spoken and written frequently in the areas of data mining, customer relationship management, and predictive analytics. Howard received his B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles and received his J.D. (Order of the Coif) from the University of Southern California.
