Philip L. Asmundson, Vice Chairman and National Managing Partner, Technology, Media & Telecommunications, Deloitte LLP: Phil Asmundson is Vice Chairman and National Managing Partner of Deloittes Technology, Media and Telecommunications Industry Practice in the U.S. With over 29 years experience in accounting, auditing and consulting, Phil leads a cross functional practice that focuses on the needs of an industry group undergoing substantial change. Phil is responsible for industry strategy, eminence and research, service development and delivering industry to the clients we serve. Phil also has global responsibilities and is currently the Global Sector Leader for Telecommunications and serves on the TMT Global Executive Committee. He also serves as the Advisory Partner on strategic TMT clients.
Irv Henderson, Vice President of Product Development, Yahoo! Mobile and Local: Irv Henderson is vice president of product development for Yahoo! Mobile and Local, leading the global product strategy and development for the companys global, mobile services as well as local products across the PC and mobile. Irv joined Yahoo! in 2004 and led product development teams in the global distribution of mobile communications products, including Mail and Messenger. During his tenure, he has co-invented the technology behind eight patent applications in mobile messaging and mobile web browsing. Prior to his current role at Yahoo!, Irv was vice president of product development at Obopay where he led the development of mobile payment applications and platforms for distribution through financial institutions and wireless carriers. Irv also served as the director of product management at Infospace Mobile where he led product development and browsing applications. Irv earned a B.A. in physics and economics from Whittier College and a M.B.A in finance from Cornell University.
Neil Trevett, Vice President, Mobile Content, NVIDIA; President of the Khronos Group: Neil has spent over twenty five years in the 3D graphics industry and is responsible at NVIDIA for enabling and encouraging compelling applications on mobile devices, tablets and smartphones. Previously, as Vice President of 3Dlabs, Neil was at the forefront of the silicon revolution bringing interactive 3D to the PC. Neil is currently the elected President of the Khronos Group where he initiated the OpenGL ES and OpenKODE working groups and chairs the OpenCL and EGL working groups that are defining industry standards for advanced compute, graphics and media processing on a wide range of mobile, embedded and desktop systems. Neil was elected President for eight consecutive years of the Web3D Consortium dedicated to creating open standards for communicating real-time 3D on the Internet.
Mark J. Penn, President of Penn, Schoen and Berland and Worldwide President & CEO, Burson-Marsteller: Mark Penn is worldwide CEO of Burson-Marsteller and President of Penn, Schoen and Berland. As CEO of Burson-Marsteller, Mr. Penn oversees a global network of 94 offices and 1600 employees. As President of PSB, a position he has held since 1975 when he was an undergraduate at Harvard, Mr. Penn focuses on providing research-based communications strategy to political figures, corporations and crisis situations. He is also the author of Microtrends: The Small Forces Behind Tomorrows Big Changes, which was released by Warner12 in September 2007. Today, Mr. Penn serves as strategic consultant to several Fortune 500 companies and CEOs on a wide range of image, branding and corporate reputation issues. His client relationships include Ford Motor Company, Merck, Verizon, BP, McDonalds and Microsoft. Mr. Penn has helped to elect over 25 leaders in the United States, Asia, Latin America, and Europe in addition to serving as the senior strategist for Senator Hillary Clintons 2008 presidential campaign. He has worked with Senator Clinton for years, including the polling and messaging for both of her successful US Senate campaigns. Previously, as an advisor to then Prime Minister Tony Blair, Mr. Penn helped create the strategy that delivered an unprecedented third term win for Labour in the United Kingdom. He is also well known for serving as President Clintons pollster and political adviser for the 1996 re-election campaign and throughout the second term of the Clinton administration.
Tim Chang, Partner, Norwest Venture Partners: Tim brings a combination of operational, technical and international business experience to Norwest Venture Partners. Tim focuses on investments in mobile, gaming, digital media, and also leads NVP's investment practice in China and Asia-Pacific. Tim's venture investments have generated more than $1.3B in M&A exit value. Tim led NVP's investments and serves on the board of directors in AdChina, PCH International, AllReach Media, Lumos Labs, Brite Semiconductor and 3jam. He also led NVP's investments in Branchout, a career networking application for social networks and social media, as well as in ngmoco (acquired by DeNA) and Playdom (acquired by Disney), two of the premier leaders in social gaming. Tim is a board observer working closely with Borqs, deCarta and Veveo. Tim began his career in venture capital in 1999 during his time at Stanford Business School as part of the founding team of CTR Ventures K.K., a venture accelerator in Tokyo focused on seed and early-stage mobile consumer applications for the Japanese market. Tim currently serves on the advisory boards of the Verizon 4G Venture Forum, the Silicon Valley Telecom Council, MIT/Stanford VLAB, CasualConnect, GamesBeat/MobileBeat, Digital Hollywood, TEDx San Francisco, and Silicon Valley Chinese Wireless Association. He was also listed on the AlwaysON Hollywood IT List recognizing technology leaders in the entertainment industry, as well as by The Deal as one of five emerging VCs to watch. Tim holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar, and an MS in electrical engineering/system engineering as well as a BS in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan. Tim is also an accomplished musician and currently performs with BlackMahal and Coverflow.
Mariana Danilovic, Managing Director, Hollywood Portfolio, LLC: a developer, owner and operator of digital media companies. The Company focuses on cross-platform incubation and acceleration, assistance in securing funding from institutional investors, corporate and business development, content aggregation, branded entertainment, and revenue generating activities for digital media ventures. Through Hollywood Portfolio, Ms. Danilovic launched and helped develop several digital media companies and serves on the Advisory Board of ReframeIt, Pixsy, and CozmoMedia. Ms. Danilovic was the EVP Business Development for a digital signage company, NTN Buzztime, Inc. (AMEX:NTN) and VP Business Development, Content Aggregation and Programming for MediaZone, broadband video company owned by NASPERS media conglomerate. She also founded and directed the Digital Media Incubator at KPMG LLP, which developed about two dozen digital media companies. The companies Ms. Danilovic helped develop received institutional funding from KPCB, Sequoia Capital, Hummer-Winblad, Constellation Partners, Softbank, North Star Ventures, HP, and Intel. At KPMG, Ms. Danilovic managed the digital media M&A transactions and facilitated the sale of the Well to the Salon prior to its initial public offering. Prior to joining KPMG, Ms. Danilovic headed business development for Peter Gubers Mandalay Entertainment. She also was part of the management team for the $60 million fund at Sony Pictures Entertainment that made investments in media companies worldwide. Ms. Danilovic also worked with Michael Milkens Knowledge Exchange and at the Twentieth Century Fox International Television Group. Prior to attending business school, she worked in Product Management as well as Mergers and Acquisitions for Transamerica and SunAmerica. She previously served on the Board of Directors of Tim Drapers Zone Club, the California Culture Net, VIC Network, and was a member of former Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan's Digital Coast Roundtable. Mariana earned a Masters in Business Administration from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA, and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from University of California, San Diego.
