Ginny Musante, Group Manager, Advertising Business Strategy, Entertainment & Devices Division, Microsoft Corporation: Ginny Musante has 3 decades experience in the media business. First, on the content side as a television journalist. Then, on the agency side as founder and creative director of her own film and video production company. And finally on the client side as a marketer at Microsoft. In her current role, Ginny leads the trade marketing efforts for the Entertainment & Devices Advertising Business Group, the team that is responsible for the ad monetization of Xbox, Zune and other emerging platforms. Specialties: Fourteen years experience driving Marketing, Advertising, and Communications initiatives, and leading virtual teams of up to 60 people.
Paul Drew, Technology Director and resident gaming expert, imc: At imc, Paul is the idea man that brings together technology frameworks, platforms, and best practices to architect solutions for clients. Those solutions are crafted to service real business needs and have a real return on investment. Paul serves as a technology director, as well as being our thought leader and subject matter expert on gaming. Paul has been working with technology in the agency world for over 14 years and has a long history of solving internal and client problems. A hard core competitive gamer, Paul has been playing games professionally, coaching teams, opening gaming based internet cafés, and consulting with sponsors, game developers, and competitive organizations for years. As imcs gaming practice leader, Paul has lead the charge to develop, maintain, and expand our gaming practice and competencies through imcs partners. From Pizza Hut to the American Diabetes Association, Shire Pharmaceuticals, Coca Cola or GameStop, Paul has worked with hundreds of clients in his roles as either a technologist or gaming thought leader in many industries and verticals. His recent initiatives include efforts to incorporate Augmented Reality into our partnership with Coca-Cola for an upcoming world-wide event, as well as working with Tabletop Media (an imc_ partner company) to develop on table kiosks with built in games at national chain restaurants. Having started working with computers when he was eight years old, Paul graduated from Southern Methodist Universitys Cox School of Business after attending on nights and weekends. He also has well over a dozen technical certifications in Windows, Unix, Macintosh, programming, security, and ITIL, and reads white papers in his free time. Additinoally, Paul also serves as a game play consultant helping game developers write rules and requirements for competitive games, one of which is set to launch in the fall of 2009.
Ivan Todorov, CEO and co-founder, BLITZ: Ivan drives the growth and strategic vision for BLITZ as the companys CEO, evangelizing the promise of bringing brands to life by developing immersive, entertaining and imaginative digital experiences. He has proven instrumental in developing relationships with long-term clients such as Nike, Starbucks, Adobe, Google, Activision, General Electric, and Microsoft. Leveraging leading technologies, Ivan guides the agencys development of ground-breaking campaigns. He has helped to define the processes behind BLITZs unique approach of creating more entertaining, compelling and active brand stories. Ivan ensures that every project meets the highest standards of quality for interactive development, video and post production, gaming and the Internet to create the most compelling brand dialogues. His prowess for digital advertising is a byproduct of a multi-disciplinary background encompassing visual design, UX, 3D, motion graphics, video and programming. Ivan is a highly-sought technology expert, speaker and educator, frequently presenting at Flash Forward, Adobe MAX and FiTC conferences. His 12 years of passion and industry experience for interactive technologies continue to fuel BLITZs reputation as a leader, and have resulted in a number of the agencys awards and recognitions including Key Art, Flash Forward, Adobe MAX Award, SXSW, One Show, ADDYs, Web Award, London International Advertising Awards (LIAA), Internet Advertising Competition (IAC), and over 20 FWAs.
Gui Karyo, EVP of Operations at Majesco (formerly EVP, Publishing at Marvel) can share perspective on the latest innovations and trends in the casual and social games market, the kinds of video games that are resonating with consumers and the direction of the market. Consumer spending on video games is proving to be recession-proof with the success of the next-generation console and growth of casual games and the fact that video game consumption remains a relatively low-ticket item along with the trend of more consumers seeking in-home entertainment. Majesco is continuing to drive growth in this economy. The companys largest franchise is Cooking Mama and is gaining strong performance from its recent release of Jillian Michaels' Fitness Ultimatum, both on the Wii platform. The Cooking Mama franchise has sold over 4 million units. The company is achieving tremendous success with a range of casual and family oriented video games on leading console and portable systems. Recently, Majesco launched its New Go Play line of motion-based video games including its Go Play Lumberjacks and Go Play Circus Star. Majesco just launched Shorts for Nintendo DS, which hits stores the same week as Warner Bros.' highly-anticipated theatrical release of the same name. Other games include Nancy Drew, Cake Mania 2 for Nintendo DS and Cooking Mama: Cook Off for the Wii system, among others. Majesco Entertainment Company is a provider of video games for the mass market. Matt Hannus, CEO and Co-Founder, Sleepy Giant: Matthew is a co-founder of Sleepy Giant Entertainment, Inc., a provider of live game operational services for online game studios. The company assumes responsibility for the development studios infrastructure strategy and planning, game management, data services and non-game technology, such as billing, analytics and web support tools, in order to bring games to market. Matthew is extremely involved in the day-to-day operations and client support aspects of Sleepy Giant, allowing him to see the trends and changes the online gaming world is facing from a unique back-end, game management perspective. Some of Sleepy Giants clients, both past and present, include Atlus Online, TOSE/THQ, Vogster Entertainment, Sparkplay Media and many others. Prior to co-founding Sleepy Giant in 2007, Matthew was vice president of strategic growth at K2 Network where he oversaw strategy and corporate development activities. Matthew serves on several boards including PlayXpert and the game advisory board for The LA Film School.
Rick Marazzani, Director of Content and Programming, Exent: Rick Marazzani is a 15-year veteran of the mass-market games business. As Director of Content and Programming for the leading games-on-demand service, Exent, Rick licenses and promotes the best games to delight and entertain audiences. He has worked for and learned from the greatest game companies (Broderbund, Maxis/EA/Pogo, Digital Chocolate, and Hands On Mobile). He has worked with some of multimedias biggest brands (EA Sports, Hasbro, Mattel) and biggest franchises (SimCity, The Sims, Monopoly). As a co-founder of the development studio iQ212, Rick continues to create original game brands across web, mobile, and PC like Emoticons, Redneck Fishin, Redneck Huntin, and their new puzzle game Fours of Nature. Rick has extensive speaking experience, including at the following conferences: GDC Mobile 2008, Casual Connect Europe 2009, Casual Connect Seattle 2009 and Casual Connect Europe 2010.
Hany Nada, Managing partner, GGV Capital: Hany Nada is managing partner of GGV Capital. He co-founded the firm in 2000. His focus is on Internet, Mobile, Application Software, and Enterprise Infrastructure. He was previously with Piper Jaffray as a Managing Director and Senior Research Analyst specializing in Internet software and e-Infrastructure. Hany was an All-Star analyst in computer software and was named in Institutional Investor All-Star in three categories. He was involved in many transactions, including initial public offerings, secondary offerings, mergers & acquisitions, private placements and venture rounds. Hany's responsibilities include IT investment activities, deal sourcing, investment due diligence, and Board directorships. GGV investments include: Glu Mobile, Xfire, Kintana, Accruent, Vocera Communications, Endeca Technologies and Turbine. Hany is a graduate of the University of Minnesota where he earned a B.S. in economics and a B.A. in political science.
