Ross Levinsohn, Founding Partner, Fuse Capital: Over the past 20 years, Ross had been on the forefront of media innovation and transformation and is a Managing Partner of the firm. In 2004, he was tapped by News Corporation Chairman Rupert Murdoch to devise the digital strategy for the company. In executing that plan, he helped transform the company to become the global leader amongst its investments and strategic management, including the acquisitions of Myspace and IGN.com, which helped vault the company to create a digital powerhouse. He also oversaw the acquisitions of Askmen.com, Scout.com, Newroo, KSolo, amongst others. As President of Fox Interactive Media, Ross managed all day-to-day operations for the company from its inception until December 2006. Under his leadership, the FOX Network of sites became one of the largest on the Internet with record setting growth with more than 140 million monthly users. He also oversaw a partnership with Google, which will yield the company nearly $1 billion in advertising from the search and monetization leader. Previously, Ross served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Fox Sports Interactive Media. In this role, he oversaw the online, wireless and broadband presence for Fox Sports. Earlier in his career, Ross held senior management positions with AltaVista Network, an early pioneer and leader in search, CBS Sportsline, where he oversaw all content and development for the top rated sports site and pay cable giant HBO. He also spent time in advertising at Saatchi and Saatchi and in sports management and marketing with ProServ and Lapin and Rose Communications.
Richard Yen, Director, Saban Ventures: Richard is a Director at Saban Ventures, an early-stage venture firm investing in digital media, mobile, and consumer Internet start-ups. Saban Ventures is the venture capital investment arm of Saban Capital Group, a private investment firm founded by Haim Saban in 2001 and specializing in the media, entertainment, and communications industries. Prior to joining Saban Ventures, Richard was a Principal at Blueprint Ventures in San Francisco where he established the firm's digital media and Internet investing practice. He led early-stage investments and was an active Board member at several leading digital media start-ups. Prior to that, Richard was at Rustic Canyon Partners, an early-stage technology venture capital firm in Southern California where he focused on software infrastructure and wireless investments. In his prior operating roles, Richard played a lead role as the fourth employee at ShockMarket, a Silicon Valley-based consumer Internet start-up that raised $6 million in venture funding and grew to 25 employees. As Director of Technology, he oversaw software development, negotiated and closed sales of first-generation products, and assisted with venture fundraising. Richard began his career as an early member of D. E. Shaw & Co.'s Internet incubator in Boston. He developed the technology behind the company's pioneering web brokerage and was the lead technical liaison to Fortune 100 business partners. Richard was promoted from Senior Software Engineer to Vice President in a four-year span, during which the business unit grew from 10 to 80 employees and was acquired by Merrill Lynch, where he served as VP of Intelligent Technologies. Richard earned a BS in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science from UC Berkeley and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, both with high honors. Richard is a graduate of the Kauffman Fellows Program.
Robert C. Raciti, Ph.D., CEO, Raciti Capital Advisors: Robert C. Raciti, Ph.D. is the CEO of Raciti Capital Advisors, a private equity portfolio with holdings in the technology, media, and entertainment sectors. Previously, he was a senior vice president with GE Capitals Media, Communications, & Entertainment (MCE) group where he provided industry insights to customers, financial sponsors, and internal teams that originate and underwrite transactions. Dr. Racitis thought leadership enabled the MCE group to amass a $ 4 billion communication portfolio with zero write-offs for six years. Over the past 9 years at GE, he participated in over 600 transactions of which over 90 were funded, representing $ 8 billion in funded deal volume. Additionally, Dr. Raciti is a regular speaker as the major industry conferences and his thought leadership has been profiled in business and industry publications including: The Wall Street Journal; Communications Lending Review; Television Business Report; Broadcast & Cable. Dr. Raciti has over 23 years of experience in the Finance, Information Technology, Telecommunications, and Engineering fields. He holds a Ph.D. in information systems from Nova Southeastern University's School of Computer and Information Sciences, an MBA in finance and marketing from Fordham University, and a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Manhattan College (cum laude).
Neal Hansch, Principal, Rustic Canyon: Neal Hansch brings over fifteen years of experience in venture capital, technology operations and investment banking. Before joining Rustic Canyon, Neal worked in the Corporate Development group at Macromedia, where he was responsible for executing worldwide M&A transactions and strategic equity investments. Prior to Macromedia, Neal was at Technology Crossover Ventures, where he focused on investments in the software, networking infrastructure and e-commerce industries. He has also worked in Product Marketing at webMethods (Nasdaq: WEBM), a leading enterprise application integration company, and co-founded a start-up that provides popular software extensions for Web development tools. Neal began his career as a financial analyst in the Software Group at Robertson Stephens, where he worked with clients such as BEA, BroadVision, HNC, Hyperion, Informatica and Intuit. Neal received his M.B.A. with distinction from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, where he was a Deutschman Venture Fellow. He also received bachelor degrees in Economics and Psychology from Duke University.
Paul Lee, Senior Vice President, Peacock Equity Fund: Paul is a founding member and Senior Vice President at the Peacock Equity Fund, a joint venture between NBC Universal and GE Capital. Pauls current Board and Observer seats include 4INFO, Greystripe, and Everyzing. Paul first started in digital media as a cofounding employee of Click2Asia, a venture-backed online media company. While at Click2Asia, Paul headed corporate development and played a pivotal role in the acquisition and integration of North Americas largest online Asian media retailer. Paul entered the venture industry when he joined GE Capitals Technology Finance business. Paul leveraged his digital media experience and oversaw the growth of the digital media portfolio. His portfolio included Brightcove, OpenPeak, Danger, and several later-stage media companies. Paul received a dual undergraduate degree in Mathematical Methods in Social Sciences (MMSS) and Economics from Northwestern University. In his free time, Paul enjoys competitive BBQ (dry rub only) and practicing mixed martial arts. He hopes to one day to see his beloved Chicago Cubs win the World Series.
