Hemanshu (Hemu) Nigam is the founder of SSP Blue, the leading advisory firm for online safety, security, and privacy challenges facing corporations and governments. A veteran of online security, he brings over 20 years of experience in private industry, government, and law enforcement. He has been called upon by institutions from the United Nations to The White House to provide counsel on the world’s most critical online information security challenges and has been a featured expert by BBC, BusinessWeek, CNN, Financial Times, Fox News, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal. From 2006 to 2010, Hemu was Chief Security Officer for News Corporation’s numerous online properties, responsible for protecting the personal information of over 200 million users around the world. He has been credited with making MySpace safe and secure after launching initiatives like Sentinel SAFE, technology to identify and remove criminals from the social networking site. He also drove the launch of over 150 other safety, security, and privacy protection features for MySpace and played a key role in an accord between MySpace and 49 State Attorneys General to develop key principles of social networking safety. Previously, from 2002 to 2006, Hemu worked for Microsoft where he led a global initiative to build safety standards into products across the company from Xbox to MSN to Windows. He also implemented a virus enforcement strategy and collaborated with the U.S. Secret Service, Interpol, and the FBI to develop Microsoft’s landmark Anti-Virus Reward Program. The program is credited with toppling one of the world’s most notorious virus creators in 2005. From 2000 to 2002, Hemu was Vice President of Worldwide Internet Enforcement at the Motion Picture Association of America, where he spearheaded a global effort to combat online movie piracy for the major Hollywood studios. During his tenure, Hemu implemented anti-piracy technology that allowed MPAA to eliminate more than 100,000 illegal movie websites in a year. From 1997 to 2000, Hemu held simultaneous roles in the federal government, serving as a federal prosecutor against child and computer crimes for the U.S. Department of Justice, advisor to a Congressional commission on child safety, and counsel to The White House on cyberstalking. In addition to prosecuting Internet predators, Hemu was behind the prosecution of 17 foreign nationals engaged in the trafficking of women and children into the United States. Hemu began his career as a deputy district attorney in Los Angeles County from 1990 to 1997, specializing in prosecuting sexual assault and child abuse cases. During his tenure, Hemu handled over 1,000 criminal matters and was a recurring lecturer at rape crisis centers across Los Angeles. Hemu recently worked with Harvard University’s Berkman Center for Internet & Society and the State Attorneys General to develop widely used online safety standards. He currently serves as co-chair of President Obama’s Online Safety Technology Working Group and sits on the board of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. He earned his juris doctorate from Boston University School of Law and his bachelor’s degree in government and political theory from Wesleyan University.

Jonathan Anastas, Vice President, Global Head of Marketing, Atari, Inc.: At Atari, Jonathan
is leading the shift toward the use of Digital marketing and distribution channels as the category’s primary selling tools.  From Social Media as a sales channel to partnerships with traditional Hollywood media companies where co-branded download hubs sit at the center of cross-platform launch campaigns, Anastas - and Atari - are working through the evolution of Digital entertainment and creating new marketing models for the new decade. Prior to Atari, Jonathan spend more than 15 years building practices, agencies and brands while always looking at the advertising industry with an Iconoclast’s eye. Most recently, Anastas was a Divisional President at Mercury Media Holdings where he was responsible for the company’s Digital practice, leading strategy and day-to-day operations on a national basis, while also working with all of MMH’s regional offices to execute ROI-based integrated media solutions for existing and prospective clients such as Neutrogena.  Anastas joined Mercury Media Holdings from Tribal DDB’s Redurban, an Omnicom-owned digital agency where he oversaw US launch offices in New York and Dallas. Prior, Jonathan held a number of management and account service roles at agencies including Mullen, Saatchi & Saatchi (co-founding and leading their West Coast Interactive team) and Omnicom Digital agency THINK New Ideas, rising to the level of Executive Vice President and Managing Director. Anastas is recognized as an early advocate of both Digital marketing and true idea-based integration across many mediums and holds advisory board positions with various early to mid-stage media and e-commerce companies.

David Lord, president and CEO, Knowledge Adventure: As head of the company,
Lord’s extensive background and 10+ years in the toy industry makes him uniquely qualified to lead Knowledge Adventure in solidifying its position as a multi-faceted kid’s entertainment company with both retail and online virtual world components. The company’s long, rich history in creating fun learning products is sustained by Lord’s expertise in producing quality educational toys for all ages, along with his talent for building a multi-faceted growth strategy for online businesses and brand development. A recognized and respected leader of the industry, Lord was awarded the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2006 Award in the Emerging Growth category in the Greater Los Angeles area. Prior to his role at Knowledge Adventure, Lord served for four years as president and CEO of RazorGator Interactive Group (RIG), a leading full-service event experience company for premiere sports and entertainment events worldwide, which he grew over 100% per year to well over $100 million dollars in revenue. While at RazorGator Lord spearheaded the growth of the RazorGator brand and raised Series A and B financing. Prior to RazorGator, Lord served as chief executive officer and chairman of the board for Toysmart.com, a venture-backed catalog company for educational, ecommerce, and retail products. During his time there, Lord established the company as the #1 brand in “Good Toys”, building brand awareness from zero to 45% in less than four months while increasing revenue over 500% each year.

Ann My Thai leads the Cooney Center's strategic partnership efforts with high tech and d
igital game industries, and oversees organizational growth and strategy. She is also the lead author of Game Changer: Investing in Digital Play to Advance Children's Learning and Health. Before joining the Cooney Center, she served as a consultant for Education for Development, Vietnam, a nonprofit organization that develops informal educational programming for disadvantaged children in Ho Chi Minh City. Yale University named her a Charles Kao Fellow and a Gordon Grand Senior Fellow for her study of the influence of private sector development in the region on local nonprofits. She went on to coordinate voting rights and education reform efforts at the NAACP Legal & Educational Defense Fund before pursing her master's degree, and has worked for Apple, developing marketing strategies for the company's professional software applications. She has served on the board of the Coalition for Asian American Children and Families, and was selected by the World Economic Forum's Young Arab Leaders to be an Arab & American Business Fellow in 2008. Ms. Thai received her bachelor's degree in Political Science from Yale University and a master's degree in Business Administration from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.

Sara DeWitt, Vice President, PBS KIDS Interactive: As Vice President of PBS KIDS Interacti
ve, Sara DeWitt oversees day-to-day development of experiences on PBS’ children’s Web sites. This includes the preschool (pbskids.org) and early elementary school age (pbskidsgo.org) websites, which now serve nearly 75 million video streams monthly, and offer more than 500 games and activities. PBS’s children’s sites reach an average of 9 million unique visitors per month.  In addition to working with producers on a variety of award-winning television program sites like Cyberchase and Curious George, and Internet-original properties like Fizzy’s Lunch Lab, DeWitt assists in the development of content on new platforms, including PBS KIDS iPhone apps (pbskids.org/mobile) and PBS KIDS Interactive White Board games (pbskids.org/whiteboard).

Don Levy, Vice President, Marketing and Communications, Sony Pictures Digital Entertainment (SPDE): a division of Sony Pictures Entertainment. Levy directs the corporate communications, marketing and public relations for SPD’s operating units including Sony Pictures Imageworks, Sony Pictures Digital Entertainment, Sony Pictures Animation and Sony Online Entertainment. In addition, Levy is responsible for the coordination of marketing and brand strategy between Sony Pictures Digital and Sony Pictures Entertainment as well as other Sony companies including Sony Electronics and Sony Computer Entertainment.








Michael Ross, Executive Director of Development, Hasbro Studios’ HasLab: Michael Ross is executive director of development for Hasbro Studios’ programming development incubator, Haslab. Ross’ primary responsibilities include working with Hasbro’s development, brand and intellectual property teams to align Hasbro’s brand priorities to deliver immersive entertainment experiences across multiple platforms. Ross joined Hasbro Studios in 2010 from Sony Pictures Television, where he served in television and new media development roles while focusing on SPT’s online video streaming portal, Crackle. Previously, at NBC Universal, Ross spent two years in casting before moving to the Current Programming Department. A native of Cleveland Ohio, Ross is a graduate of Florida State University where he received a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree in theater.
