Dale (Ty) Roberts, Sr. Vice President & Chief Technology Officer, Gracenote: Ty Roberts is widely recognized as one of the inventors of enhanced CD technology and is accredited with producing the industry’s first enhanced CDs. He joined Gracenote in November of 1998 after the company acquired ION, a multimedia and music technology company that he founded in 1993. Roberts serves as Gracenote’s chief technology strategist, providing technology direction and overseeing the creation of products and services that leverage the power of the Gracenote database to deliver information services. While at ION, Roberts produced the recording industry’s first enhanced audio CD titles, including David Bowie’s "Jump" and "Headcandy" from Brian Eno. He was the company’s lead technologist and innovator in adding multimedia content to traditional audio CDs. ION was also widely recognized as a leading provider of enhanced CD production tools utilized by recording and multimedia development companies. In September 1993, Bertlesmann Music Group created the first interactive record label after acquiring a 50 percent interest in ION. Prior to founding ION, Roberts was a founder and senior manager of LightSource, a software development company that produced multimedia and graphics editing software. Previously, he was a senior engineer at Pixar, where he created several award winning, Apple-based music applications including "Studio Session" and "Jam Session." Well-known within the music industry community, Roberts has spoken at numerous conferences and events throughout the world. .

Francisco Varela leads wireless partnerships for YouTube. He has global responsibilities for creating and overseeing YouTube’s strategic partnerships with companies such as Vodafone, T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint and DoCoMo. Mr. Varela also works on product strategy for the YouTube mobile site and other YouTube syndication efforts. Prior to joining YouTube, Mr. Varela worked for the mobile software company Openwave Systems in London. Mr. Varela also spent nearly five years at Yahoo! Inc., where he worked on Yahoo!’s international alliances and acquisitions, including Yahoo!’s mobile efforts with companies such as Telia Sonera and sponsorship of the FIFA World Cup. Mr. Varela earned his Juris Doctor degree from Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley, and was selected in his third year to study at the Harvard Law School.

Jim Louderback, CEO, Revision3: Jim Louderback joined Revision3 as the CEO in July 2007. Jim has spent 16 years in various media and technology management roles, including leading editorial and lab efforts for PC Week, and being on the launch team for ZDTV/TechTV - the first 24 hour cable network devoted to technology. He most recently served as senior vice president and editorial director for Ziff Davis Media's Consumer group, along with being Editor in Chief of PC magazine. Prior to jumping into the media world, Jim built computer systems for Fortune 500 companies. He has a Math degree from UVM, and an MBA from NYU's Stern School.












Michael Papish,
President, CEO & co-founder, MediaUnbound: Michael was Chief Engineer of Harvard University’s radio station (WHRB-FM) when he took a leave of absence to co-found MediaUnbound in 2000. As CEO, Michael leads the company’s sales and marketing divisions and helps coordinate the melding of computer engineering and human music analysis which drives MediaUnbound’s technology. Michael has been invited to speak on and moderate numerous industry panels in the US and around the world. He has testified in front of the U.S. Copyright Office on issues regarding webcasting and digital music. Michael serves as a Special Adviser to the Taskforce on Recordkeeping in Noncommercial Webcasting and acts in a pro-bono capacity as policy and technology adviser for WHRB. After returning to school, he graduated from Harvard University with an A.B. in Astrophysics and Philosophy. At the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, his research focus was on supercomputer simulations of large-scale structure evolution in the universe. Michael has spoken on and moderated numerous industry panels in the US and abroad, including at CMJ, Webnoize, IMX, Digital Hollywood, Digital Music Forum, Parks Associates, the Millennials Conference, National Entrepreneurship Convention, StreamingMedia, IBS, CBI, and more. He has testified in front of the U.S. Copyright Office on issues regarding webcasting and digital music. Michael has worked closely with executive teams at companies such as Ericsson, Orange and NTT DoCoMo helping them implement cross-platform personalization strategies.

Jody Stark is a serial entrepreneur who has served as a co-founder and senior executive of several successful startups including, ViziWorx, MoBad Games, Transpera, Mixed Signals, iSports and YooMedia. Currently Jody is President and CEO of IniTech Consulting. This strategic consulting practice is focused on business development, content and distribution strategy, acquisition and programming across online, TV and mobile. Over the last several years Initech has become one of the most sought after consulting practices in the new distribution milieu, with clients including Disney, Viacom, News Corp, NBC, DirecTV, Comcast, Cox, AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, Alltel, BT, Turner/AOL and Google. Jody has a passion for music, media, technology and social issues and has combined these interests in a number of ways during his career. Mr. Stark completed his studies at the University of Kansas before relocating to California. He and his family live in the south bay of Los Angeles and are active members of their community and strong proponents of California's active and vibrant lifestyle.
