David Faber, Anchor and Reporter, CNBC: An Emmy, Peabody, and Dupont award winner, David Faber is the anchor and co-producer of CNBC's acclaimed original documentaries and long-form programming as well as a contributor to CNBC's "Squawk on the Street." (M-F, 9-10 a.m. ET). Faber is also the chief correspondent for CNBC's "Business Nation" a monthly, one-hour newsmagazine, which features the stories behind the business headlines. "Business Nation" is the first regularly scheduled newsmagazine to focus solely on the world of business. In December 2007, "Business Nation" received an Emmy for its piece, "Prescription....and Pay-offs," reported by Faber. During the day, Faber breaks news and provides in-depth analysis on a range of business topics for the network during his twice weekly "Faber Report." In his 14 years at CNBC, Faber has broken many big financial stories including the massive fraud at WorldCom, the bailout of the hedge fund Long Term Capital Management, and Rupert Murdoch's unsolicited bid for Dow Jones. In November 2006, Faber presented the two-hour, Emmy award-winning, original documentary "Big Brother, Big Business," which investigates the increasing number of ways ordinary Americans are monitored and affected by the encroaching world of surveillance and how this covert spying has become big business. "Big Brother, Big Business" received an Emmy in the category of Outstanding Documentary on a Business Topic. Faber received the two most prestigious awards in broadcast journalism in 2005 when CNBC's two-hour documentary, "The Age of Wal-Mart," garnered both a Peabody Award and the Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award for Broadcast Journalism. Both were firsts for the network. Faber launched the network's long-form, original documentaries in 2003 with the Maxwell Award-winning and Emmy-nominated "The Big Heist: How AOL Took Time Warner." Faber followed "The Big Heist" with the acclaimed "The Big Lie: Inside the Rise and Fraud of WorldCom." "The Big Lie" received a National Headliner Award and was used by the prosecution in the trial of WorldCom's Former CEO Bernard Ebbers. Faber's documentary "The eBay Effect -- Inside a Worldwide Obsession" aired in June 2005. Faber joined CNBC in 1993 after seven years at Institutional Investor, where he covered corporate finance and global equity markets. David's book, The Faber Report, was published by Little, Brown in Spring 2002. He holds a bachelor's degree in English from Tufts University.

Allan Sloan, Senior Editor-at-Large, FORTUNE: Allan Sloan joined FORTUNE as senior editor-at-large in July of 2007. He was previously Newsweek's Wall Street editor. vSloan is a seven-time winner of the prestigious Gerald Loeb Award, business journalism's highest honor, and has also won numerous awards and honors during his 35-year business journalism career. In 2001, he received both the Loeb Lifetime Achievement Award and the Distinguished Achievement Award from the Society of American Business Editors and Writers. Prior to his twelve-year run at Newsweek, Sloan was a columnist at Newsday and also held positions at Forbes and MONEY, among other titles. His current FORTUNE columns can be seen in the Washington Post. He currently contributes to Public Radio International's "Marketplace," whose "Sloan Sessions" are broadcast Monday mornings, and frequently appears as a commentator on the PBS television program, "Nightly Business Report." Sloan received an M.S. from the Columbia Journalism School and a B.A. from Brooklyn College. A native of Brooklyn, Sloan currently resides in New Jersey with his wife. They have three grown children.






Michael Mandel, Chief Economist, BusinessWeek: DR. MICHAEL MANDEL is chief
economist at BusinessWeek, where he helps direct the magazine's coverage of the domestic and global economies. Since joining BusinessWeek in 1989, he has received multiple awards for his work, including being honored as one of the 100 top U.S. business journalists of the 20th century for his coverage of the New Economy. Mandel recently was named "Best Economic Journalist" for 2006 by the World Leadership Forum. He has written several books, including The Coming Internet Depression, published in September 2000, and Rational Exuberance: Silencing the Enemies of Growth and Why the Future Is Better than You Think, published in 2004. Mandel holds a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University.
