The advancements being made in the basic technologies which are the foundations of our consumer electronics, PC, mobile and games devices are coming about now more quickly and abundantly than ever. Whoever said that the progress we’ve made in the past ten years will be doubled or tripled in the coming decade may have underestimated the technology timetable. From chip sets to hard drives, our entire CE and entertainment future is about to empowered. We are pleased to welcome the technical experts to this session who will explain what our future holds.

Sandip H. Mandera, Product Manager, Digital Media Products and Infrastructure, Intel Corporation. He is responsible for enabling ISVs on digital home technologies (UPnP, DTCP/IP), developing enabling strategies and evangelizing digital home technologies. He has over 8 years of experience in software and technical marketing combined. In the past, he led Intel's marketing representation on Web services standards - UDDI.org and later OASIS UDDI during 2002 and 2003. He has spoken at leading conferences like Software Development Conference & Web Services World XML and Web Services Conference, contributed to a book chapter in the notable XML Handbook (5th edition) and his articles have appeared in leading magazines like IDS, DevX and JavaWorld. He holds an M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University, M.S. in Computer Science and Engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington and a B. Tech. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Regional Engineering College, Calicut, India.

Chris Schairbaum, World Wide Business Manager, Portable Audio/Infotainment, Texas Instruments: Since joining the company in 1995, Chris Schairbaum has managed product development, strategic marketing and new business development initiatives for several of TI’s custom and mass market-focused semiconductor and software product lines, most notably in the areas of mass storage, digital audio and entertainment. Through his leadership, Texas Instruments has become a leading technology provider in the portable entertainment market through it vast network of consumer electronics customers and third party partners. Chris graduated from the University of Dayton with a degree in electrical engineering and is currently a masters of business administration candidate at the University of Texas.

Dan Steere, Vice President Of Sales of Marketing, Matrix Semiconductor: Mr. Steere is Matrix's Vice President of Sales and Marketing, bringing to thecompany a unique blend of marketing skill, business strategy, and technologyacumen. After graduating with a B.A. in computer science from HarvardUniversity, Mr. Steere joined Citibank's Illinois Consumer Banking Business as aBranch Manager, driving new approaches to sales and local marketing, and the useof technology in retail banking. After receiving an MBA from StanfordUniversity, Mr. Steere joined Intel. At Intel, he held a series of marketingpositions focused on mobile computing and the consumer electronics industry. AsDirector, Strategic Integration Operation, he cultivated Intel's corporatestrategy for the consumer electronics industry. Following Intel, Mr. Steerebecame an early entrant into the business-to-business Internet market asBusiness Unit Manager at pcOrder.com. In that role, he was responsible both formanaging the Company's key computer manufacturer relationships and forrelaunching the Company's core service, TechBuyer Online. Mr. Steere joinedMatrix in February 1999. He is responsible for all of Matrix's sales andmarketing activities and oversees Matrix's strategic relationships. In additionto his sales and marketing role, Mr. Steere has served as Matrix's acting CFOfrom 1999-2004.

Todd Moore, Director, Product Marketing and Sales, PortalPlayer: As PortalPlayer’s director of product marketing and sales, Todd advises and participates in PortalPlayer’s business development and overall marketing strategy. Todd works closely with product engineering, marketing and sales to drive the development and launch of PortalPlayer’s semiconductor, firmware and software solutions. Additionally, he heads the company’s sales efforts for North America and Japan, where he helps System OEMs build feature-rich portable media devices. Todd has nearly 15 years of experience in the consumer electronics and semiconductor markets. In 1998 Todd co-founded RioPort.com, the world’s first commercially viable online music service provider where he worked as director of product marketing for four years before joining PortalPlayer in 2001. Prior to RioPort.com, Todd worked as product line manager at Diamond Multimedia and senior product manager at National Semiconductor. He is currently a member of advisory boards of several consumer-related start-ups and has been an active member of ICCE and PMA. Moore holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from University of Colorado.

Mark Knox is an independent consultant and writer based in Union County New Jersey, who is currently working with Toshiba and the HD DVD Promotion Group. A 25 year veteran of the Electronics Industry, he has been instrumental in the launch of many new product categories, including the first true Digital Pianos, Dolby Surround Sound, CD recording, Satellite Television, DVD, HDTV and now HD DVD. He has been consistently active in the Consumer Electronics Alliance, having served on various product Division Boards as well as the Technology and Standards groups. In 1996, he received the "Digi" award from Wideband Magazine, recognizing his contributions to the Digital Products industry. Mark lives in New Jersey in a very old house with a very new wireless network, his wife Kat and five other felines. He frequently enjoys watching terrestrial and cable HDTV, listening to high performance Audio and serenading his wife and the other cats with his guitar and keyboards.
