The numbers are still coming in, but digital upgrades are approaching 40 million homes. Soon the majority of homes will have access to the advanced set-top features only dreamed about a few years ago. The set-top as 500 channel universe, set-top as broadband connection, set-top as on-demand service, as PVR and time-shifting device, set-top as interactive terminal and communications device. Maybe we should rename DTV Set-top, the Entertainment Super Appliance, because it will be about ten things more than a TV. A technology industry veteran, Putterman held senior management positions at Borland International and Symantec Corporation and was responsible for product management, business development and worldwide evangelism.Stuart Lipson, Vice President, Content Solutions, SeaChange International: Stuart Lipson is vice president of Content Solutions for the worlds leading on-demand systems provider SeaChange International. Lipson is focused on supporting television networks, studios and other content creators and providers in their efforts to more efficiently distribute content and extend their brands as television rapidly evolves toward more personal applications across all forms of television and online venues. Lipson has focused on media and entertainment for over 20 years. Since 1996, his consultancy provided strategic support for a wide range of television programmers and technology companies including Court TV, Agency.com and Incanta. Lipson spent the six prior years with Century Communications, where he was vice president of programming and advertising sales. His career began with ten years in television commercial production. Lipson earned his M.S. in technology management from Polytechnic University and his Bachelors degree in business administration from the State University of New York at Albany. Lipson serves on the board of the Big Picture Alliance, which provides Philadelphias inner city youth with opportunities to learn about film production. He is also a member of the Directors Guild of America and the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing. A fifteen year veteran of the industry, he has spearheaded Sun's market and product efforts in digital television, video over IP, multiplayer online games, digital asset and rights management, and content workflow. Bill has appeared on numerous industry panels and forums as an expert in digital media and telecommunication trends, technology and business models Ken Goldsholl is the CEO of PRISMIQ, a California-based startup develo ping Networked Entertainment Gateways, the next wave of set-top boxes, digital entertainment centers, and related devices that exploit broadband access. PRISMIQs flagship MediaPlayer product has won more awards than other in its category, including "Product of the Year" from PC Magazine, C\NET, TechTV, Computer Shopper magazine, Electronic House magazine, and the Consumer Electronics Association. Previous to PRISMIQ, Mr. Goldsholl was the founder and CEO of Atlas Communication Engines, Inc., which was acquired by audio and video conferencing equipment leader Polycom in December 1999.
