By the end of 2003, there will be at least 10 million Nokia Series 60 platform-based devices on the market, including the Nokia 3650, Nokia 6600, as well as new devices from Siemens and Samsung. Licensees of the Series 60 platform, including Siemens, Samsung, Panasonic, and Sendo represent roughly 60 percent of the mobile handset market today. Also by the end of 2004 there will be 50-100 million advanced color devices based on the Nokia Series 40 platform in the market. Nokia is investing significant resources into developing platforms, tools, and marketing and sales support programs to help all members of the mobile value chain take their offerings to market. In this presentation, Ms. Zilliacus will present market statistics gathered from Nokia's work around the globe and brief you on our Nokia's offering, including efficiently creating and getting your content out to consumers, operators and Series 60 platform licensees. The presentation will end with discussion of companies who have successfelly developed and deployed mobile content services. Tiina Zilliacus, Senior Manager, Media and Music Applications Area, For um Nokia, Nokia Mobile Phones Tiina Zilliacus, Senior Manager, Media and Music Applications Area, For um Nokia, Nokia Mobile Phones: Tiina Zilliacus is responsible for media, music and messaging applications development for Forum Nokia, Nokias developer community. She heads the team with whom applications developers, content providers and network operators interface to promote mobile media, music and messaging applications. In 2001 and 2002, Ms. Zilliacus group was instrumental in stimulating Multimedia Messaging (MMS) application development for Nokia's terminals as well as getting MMS applications to the mobile services market. In July 2002, the team also assumed responsibility for helping branded as well as non-branded mobile content developers and owners to develop mobile media and music services for Nokia's terminals. Before joining Nokia in August 2001, Ms. Zilliacus worked for Finnish telecommunications operator, Sonera, in several business and strategy development projects and positions. In 1999, she helped found Sonera Zed, the global mobile portal offering mobile value-added services. During two years as business development manager for Sonera Zed, she was responsible of various internationalisation, global partnering, business modeling and product development related efforts. Ms. Zilliacus holds a Masters Degree in Economics from Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration in Finland. |
