| Tuesday, September 20 3:50 PM - 5:00 PM Track I: Entertainment Expands the Digital Home: Networking, Sharing and Protecting With the introduction and planning of the next generation of digital entertainment products from DVD video to audio into the home now in process, the emergence of the fully digital home is at hand. With the fully networked and integrated entertainment experience as the goal, content must be immediately available to the consumer in an easy as well as secure environment. In this session, we will begin the discussion of what the distribution of product in digital home will look like in the coming year as well as how the technologies of the future will enable entertainment in the digital home to emerge. (DNNA) and TiVo. As TiVos chief evangelist and a senior member of TiVos product marketing team, Bullwinkle helped create and develop the TiVo products, and then played an instrumental role in helping create the well-known publicity around the TiVo products and brand. Bullwinkle joins Mediabolic from DNNA, a wholly owned subsidiary of D&M Holdings U.S., Inc. and the parent company of Rio Audio and ReplayTV. As a senior member of Rio Audios Product Marketing team, he helped create and market some of the most popular MP3 players in the US. Prior to that he was in charge of the user experience, including software and interface design, at ReplayTV. Bullwinkle graduated from Rollins College in Florida with degrees in English and Music Brad Hunt, Senior Vice President, Chief Technology Officer, Motion Picture Association of America, Inc.: Mr. Hunt is the Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for the Motion Picture Association of America. He works closely with the seven major studios that make up the MPAA on content protection and anti-piracy related issues and policymaking. He leads the MPAA Office of Technologys involvement in content protection specifications and licensing, international standardization efforts, regulatory and legislative initiatives, and content protection compliance monitoring and enforcement. Mr. Hunt has worked in the motion picture and television industry for over twenty-five years in a variety of roles ranging from research & development, marketing, strategic planning, and executive management in the motion picture film, digital post-production hardware, and post-production service businesses. Mr. Hunt has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. degree from the William E. Simon Graduate Business School at the University of Rochester. He is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and a Fellow of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers.Janet Snowdon, Business Development Manager, IBM Digital Media Group: Janet Snowdon, Business Development Manager, IBM Digital Media Group, is responsible for the development of IBM's strategy for content protection, including building on-going alliances with target companies within the content distribution area. Prior to her current position, Snowdon was responsible for Solution Sales for IBM Media and Entertainment Industry. Since joining IBM in 1983, Snowdon has held a variety of sales, marketing and engineering positions within IBMs consumer electronics, transportation, manufacturing and telecommunications industries. A graduate of University of California, Davis, Snowdon earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. She has completed IBM Presidents class and International Presidents class and received numerous sales awards and recognition from clients. Snowdon has also been awarded IBM Presidents award for her work with semiconductors. Peter Kaars, Director of Business Development, Philips Electronics: P eter Kaars, Director of Business Development for Philips Electronics, has been with Philips for more than 15 years. Kaars, based in the U.S./West Coast, represents Philips in a technical capacity working with content providers on issues ranging from DRM and content protection to new technologies and entertainment formats. In this position, he is at the crossroads of the media and high-technology industries. Kaars began his career in Philips in Computer Aided Design, working in multimedia with Philips Research in the Netherlands. In 1994, he joined Philips Digital Networks, where he played a key role in such pioneering developments as Video on Demand, Digital Satellite TV, Digital Cable TV and Internet streaming. During this time, he also served as a member of various DVB standardization committees including the Multimedia Home Platform for interactive television. Kaars was graduated from the University of Amsterdam, where he worked on numerical simulation of solid state physics.Udo Eberlein joined Nero, Inc. in May 2001 as Founder and President , and successfully launched Nero products in North America, transforming the brand from a CD/DVD burning application into a premier digital media solution.
