As ITV enters everyday usage and acceptance in our digital households, for the first time in the United States, we are able to see how the economics of Interactive TV will play out. While the consumer may not be paying directly for many of the services, the involvement of tens of millions of users in Interactive TV activities is now identifiable. As we move forward, the idea of a separate notion of ITV, as distinct from "digital TV viewing" may simply disappear. It is predicted by many that the functionality of ITV may be so compelling, that consumers may simply incorporate ITV their everyday viewing process. Before taking on the role at yoomedia Jody ran the Media and Entertainment Practice for Blast Radius (www.blastradius.com), a business solutions provider that leverages technology to automate marketing, sales, and customer service for clients including Nike, Nintendo, Kenwood, Casio, Heineken, MTV, BMW, Universal Studios, and Atlantic Records Prior to joining Blast Radius, Mr. Stark was a partner and co-founder of Los Angeles-based Initech Consulting, where he built the companys North American operations and developed strategic media technology plans for content companies such as AOL, Turner Networks and DirecTV. He was also the founder of Viziworx, Inc., a provider of core interactive television authoring services to broadband service providers and content service providers. Viziworx was acquired in 2000 by ACTV (IATV), a wholly owned subsidiary of Liberty Media Company. Mr. Starks previous experience includes working with Mixed Signals Technology as Senior Vice President, Business Development and consulting for clients such as Microsoft,ESPN Sony, CBS, Fox, Liberate Technologies, CNN and DirecTV. An influential public speaker, Mr. Stark has developed and produced several cutting-edge broadband service applications that have garnered him industry-wide recognition including Emmy nomination in 2001.Jonathan Symonds, Vice President, Business Development, ICTV: Prior to joining ICTV, Jonathan formerly served in a variety of strategic planning and product development roles with On Command, a subsidiary of Liberty Media providing interactive television products to the hospitality industry. Previously, Jonathan served in PricewaterhouseCoopers' Audit, Assurance and Business Advisory Services Group. Jonathan holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Washington and Lee University, and a master's in business administration from Cornell University. Rich Fickle, Executive Vice President of Strategic Development , Asce nt Media Group: Richard C. Fickle was appointed Executive Vice President of Strategic Development in November 2001. In this role, Fickle's primary responsibilities include oversight of the introduction of new products, as well as strategic planning for the company. In the area of new product introductions, Fickle's focus includes areas such as video on demand, interactive television and digital syndication. In his strategy role, Fickle helps identify the priority opportunities for Ascent Media Group and spearheads partnerships with companies to solidify new opportunities. A 20-year veteran of the cable, satellite and programming industry, Fickle previously served as Senior Vice President with AT&T Broadband, a premier voice, video, and data communications company formerly known as Tele-Communications, Inc. (TCI). In this position, Fickle oversaw two business units including Interactive Television and Headed in the Sky (HITS). During his tenure, Fickle was responsible for AT&Ts interactive television strategy and new product development across multiple functions within the organization. In addition, he launched and operated HITS, which is now the cable industrys largest provider of digital video services. Prior to joining AT&T Broadband, Fickle was Chief Operating Officer of Colorado Real Estate & Investment, where he directed all company operations across multiple states seeking out means for increasing occupancy and reducing costs. From 1986 to 1992, Fickle served as Executive Vice President of Tele-Communications, Inc., where he managed the Netlink business unit, which eventually became the largest provider of satellite programming to C-Band dish consumers in a highly competitive marketplace. In addition, Fickle spearheaded the company's acquisition of three related companies, developed an aggressive retail dealer network, and directed the initial launch of Primestar satellite product within TCI cable systems. Prior to joining TCI, Fickle served as a Chief Financial Officer and Senior Director in various cable companies. He began his career at a Denver-based CPA firm. Fickle received his bachelors degree in accounting from University of Denver and a masters degree in finance from University of Colorado. He has received certification from various professional organizations, including his CPA. Fickle resides in a small town outside of Denver and raises llamas for a family packing business with his wife, Robin. They have two boys who are full of spunk.Matthew S. Bromberg, Vice President and General Manager of AOL Gam es, America Online, Inc.: As Vice President and General Manager of AOL Games, Matthew Bromberg is responsible for all gaming related activities across AOL Inc., including the AOL service, leading Web properties, broadband, and devices. AOL Games provides programming, services, and marketing for Web, PC, and console games for AOL members and game fans on the Web, with a focus on creating enhanced, high-speed exclusives for AOL for Broadband members. Under Mr. Brombergs direction, AOL Games has introduced a series of new initiatives that bring AOL members exclusive content and maximize their overall gaming experience while delivering valuable promotional and marketing benefits to game industry partners. Previously, Mr. Bromberg was Vice President and General Manager of AOLs Moviefone, the world's largest movie show time, information and ticketing service, during which time Moviefones consumer usage grew by more than 300 percent. Prior to joining AOL in 1999, Mr. Bromberg was at CMP Media, where he served as Publisher and General Manager of Techweb Network, a leading network of information technology sites, and led Business Development for Informationweek magazine. A Harvard Law School graduate, Mr. Bromberg began his media career at American Lawyer Media, where he was Deputy Publisher of American Lawyer Magazine, as well as Director of Sales and Marketing for Lexis Counsel Connect, a pioneering online service for lawyers.Andrew Rosenman, Account Director, Automotive, Critical Mass, New Y ork: Since the late 1980s Andrew Rosenman has worked in the multimedia and design industry, producing some of the earliest examples of interactive and computer-based brand work for music and entertainment businesses. With the proliferation of personal computers and the advent of the Internet as a channel for distributed multimedia, Andrew brought his experience in software psychology and Human Factors engineering to the interactive agency world, deploying in 1994 the first interactive media product from Dow Jones / The Wall Street Journal. A native of Washington DC and a graduate of McGill University, Andrew is currently an Account Director for Critical Mass in New York, focused on the Mercedes-Benz relationship. Prior to joining Critical Mass, Andrew was Director of Account Development for 141XM, a division of Ogilvy One. He has also served as Vice President of Strategy for privately held Centerseat Inc., winner of the 2000 MediaWeek IQ Award for "Best Integrated Content and Commerce", and later sold to Panasonic Matsushita Ventures. In his roles at Magnet Interactive Studios, Eagle River Interactive, and K2 Design, clients have included The Smithsonian Institution, Compaq / HP, Visa International, The Ford Motor Co., Michael Jordan Enterprises, and Borders Books and Music. A frequent speaker at new media industry events, he is a contributor to several industry round tables and a participant in key interactive summits. Andrew has recently been retained as a part-time instructor at NYU where he teaches a course in promotional marketing to professional certificate and continuing education adults. He is also is a Governing Member of the Interactive Television Alliance, a non-profit trade association promoting the adoption of ITV by content creators, advertisers, and networks.Allison Dollar is a founder and co-president of the Interactive Television Alliance, a non-profit trade association whose broad constituency is committed to accelerating iTV in the U.S. She is also a principal in 2degree Partners, a management consultancy focused on iTV, specializing in alliance packaging, cross-platform marketing and digital services integration. A longtime champion of ubiquitous interactivity, she co-founded eTV World, Hollyweb Live!, iNNOVATORS venture pitch series, and chaired NABs Executive Committee to launch Multimedia World. Clients have included IBMs eBusiness (American Express, Bell Atlantic, Mail Boxes Etc.), AOL, SimplyTV, Web TV, WB, Creative Planet, Stan Lee Media, Vi[z]Rt (virtual sets), and Envivio (MPEG-4). For Webcasts.com she was CSO and a founding board member (IPO as iBEAM Internet Broadcasting Corp). Previously, for Phillips Business Information she led business/content development with over 30 trade publications. Titles included Interactive Video News, Interactive Marketing News, Internet Week, CableFAX, Multimedia Week, E-Commerce News, Film & Video Magazine, A/V Video magazine, Via Satellite. While Editorial Director of In Motion she created sponsor packages with Sony, SGI, PacBell, Autodesk, AOL, HBO, Kodak and Sprint. These anticipated the impact of 3D visual effects, advertainment, DBS, broadband, VOD and wireless devices. She worked with Oscar-nominee documentarian Ross Spears, CBS News, the Maryland Film Commission. A founding board member of Marylands WIFV, she received ASAEs Golden Circle award, held advisory board positions for CINE and the US Film&Video Festival. She holds a M.A. from the University of Virginia and Phi Beta Kappa B.A. from Goucher College in Baltimore, and has been interviewed by National Public Radio, LA Times, Wall Street Journal, Hot Wired, Hollywood Reporter, Variety, BizTalk1, Millimeter, Digitrends, Broadcasting & Cable and other outlets.
