What was a cable and satellite world, may soon have a new full-featured competitor in the area of content delivery to the consumer. First came the dial tone. Then long distance and that was followed by an international wireless network. Now that DSL has made its move as a leading technology into the digital home, moving the customer into a broadband video, broadcast services, movies on demand and other video service world is the natural next away. Telcos have the customers and the infrastructure, soon it will have entertainment content as well. Under Angela, revenues for the Companys pay per view and video on demand business have increased 300% in the last three years. Angela joined MGMs television operations in 1999. Angela successfully negotiated content distribution agreements with such major international companies as the United Kingdoms BSkyB and Front Row; Germanys T-Online and Premiere; Japans Yahoo BB, Australias Foxtel, Asias STAR TV and Korea Digital Broadcasting. Previously, Angela worked as a management consultant for A.T. Kearney in Los Angeles. Before AT Kearney, Angela worked as a Corporate Finance Analyst with Citicorp Securities in New York in their Media and Entertainment Group. Bill has appeared on numerous industry panels and forums as an expert in digital media and telecommunication trends, technology and business models Derek Kuhn P.Eng., Director of Marketing and Business Development, I nformation, Communication and Entertainment Group, Fixed Solutions Division, Alcatel Fixed Communications Group & Chairman, Broadband Content Delivery Forum: Derek Kuhn is Director of Marketing and Business Development for Alcatels Information, Communication and Entertainment Group and is based at Alcatels Ottawa, Ontario Campus. As a business and marketing lead, Mr. Kuhn is the primary liaison with Alcatels network and content partners that contribute to both technology and business models which will support end-to-end broadband entertainment services. Mr. Kuhn is also the Chairman of the Broadband Content Delivery Forum, an independent, non-profit trade association that addresses the business of broadband and works with the service provider and content community to deliver content-rich consumer and business services. Prior to Alcatels acquisition of Newbridge Networks in May 2000, Mr. Kuhn was Senior Product Manager, ATM Access Products in 1999, and Product Manager, Narrowband Packet in1998. Mr. Kuhn joined Newbridge Networks when they acquired Castleton Network Systems of Burnaby, British Columbia where he was a Systems Engineering Manager. Mr. Kuhn began his career as a consulting engineer with Totten Sims & Hubicki from 1988 to 1996. Mr. Kuhn holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario.Amy Friedlander, Founder, Xanthum Partners: Amy Friedlander is a spe cialist in new media with years of experience in video-on-demand, broadband content, cable and technology ventures. Today, Ms. Friedlander heads a strategic consulting practice, Xanthum Partners, and helps clients bridge the gap between content and technology. Working with telecoms, technology and entertainment companies, Xanthum Partners helps clients from around the globe with content strategy, negotiation and acquisition, and programming and packaging development. Ms. Friedlander was previously General Counsel and SVP of Business Development for Intertainer, the first VOD service delivered over both broadband and cable. She was responsible for negotiating content agreements with the major studios and programmers, distribution agreements with cable companies and telcos, and general technology ventures. In the Business Development role, Ms. Friedlander was responsible for all international development and led her team to implement Intertainers strategy related to content distribution and software services. In addition, she counseled the Company on new media issues and helped the company raise over $100 Million from companies such as Microsoft, Comcast, Intel, Qwest, Sony, NBC and Thomson Consumer Electronics. Prior to her tenure with Intertainer, Ms. Friedlander practiced corporate law at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in Los Angeles. Ms. Friedlander holds a JD from the University of Chicago and a BA with honors from the University of Michigan.Suzanne Rainey is a Principal of Accord Media Group LLC (AMG.) AM G is the premier digital entertainment consulting firm focused on assisting telephone companies deploy video services. She has 20 years of experience working for television media companies including NBC, MGM, Universal and PolyGram. Suzanne worked with the first VOD trials while she was MGMs Director of Worldwide Pay Television. Her extensive involvement in television distribution includes managing the licensing and marketing for MGMs film and television programs worldwide where she introduced innovative marketing and promotion campaigns for films such as Goldeneye, The Birdcage and Get Shorty. In 1998, she was appointed Vice President, Pay Television and Cable Television for PolyGram Television. In addition to overseeing all of PolyGrams PPV and VOD activities, Suzanne was responsible for sales from PolyGrams library to domestic cable networks. Suzanne has consulted for a wide variety of companies on business plan, licensing and marketing projects including General Dynamics Interactive (GDI), Best Buy, Reel.com, Replay Television and Solaris Entertainment. At GDI, Suzanne negotiated long-term output deals with all of the Major Studios and acquired other content from a wide variety of suppliers. Suzanne began her career at NBC. Over the course of 11 years, she rose through the ranks of finance and business affairs.
