Karl Meisenbach, Director of Advertising, HDNet: Karl Meisenbach has evolved with the video business and his experience includes working with advertisers to deliver their messages via Nationally Syndicated TV Programs, In-Flight TV, In-Store TV, Webcasting, and now, the best viewer experience yet, High Definition Television. As the Director of Advertising since the launch of HDNet in 2001, Karl has worked with over 30 advertisers such as Budweiser, Nokia, Mitsubishi, and Zenith to sell, test, learn, and take advantage of the benefits that HDTV delivers – a widescreen experience, an image that has 10 times the detail of your Dad’s TV, and 5.1 surround sound. Previous to HDNet, Karl was working with advertisers and marketers to utilize the new video delivery mechanism at the time, streaming video, with broadcast.com which was later sold to Yahoo! Too bad he was drunk on the internet kool-aid, like a lot of people and you know who you are, and neglected to sell his stock before the collapse, so, after a few counseling sessions, he’s back! And excited about the roll out of High Definition TV. HDNet produces and televises more High Definition Sports, Entertainment and News programming than any other network. Karl has spoken at numerous industry conferences regarding the roll out of HDTV and some of the experiences and lessons learned, so far, at HDNet.
