Video on a PDA is here, but what does that mean in the race to bring wireless video to the market as a whole. Wireless broadband is definitely the killer app that will spawn a transformation of every digital device, from the PDA and cellphone to the at home PC. What can we expect in the transition to broadband wireless? What services can we expect to see and what relationships will likely emerge between the media companies, content companies and the device or networking companies? In this session, we will take a three year look at the delivery of video into the mobile. David's organization is dedicated to achieving steady growth of new revenue in the E&M marketplace by establishing Hewlett Packard as the industry leading powerhouse within the digital value chain that stretches from content creation to consumption. David and his organization are working with customers to move to more advanced interactive technologies that brings with it unprecedented divergence - a fragmentation beyond TV, radio and print into new modes of content acces(cable, satellite, DSL, and wireless) and new modes of content consumption (PC, handheld, PVR, iTV, and 3G telephony). David joined HP as General Manager of HP Global Invent in September 2000 after serving as Regional Director of Southern California for Sun Microsystems. David holds a bachelor's degree in marketing from San Jose State University. He serves as member on the Board of Trustees for The Foundation of The International Council of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Kris W. Jacob, Vice President, Business Development, ActiveSky, Inc.: With over a decade of business development, marketing and product development experience at high-tech companies, Jacob brings vast experience in all facets of business development and operations from his experience with emerging technology companies while managing director of Alterlayer, LLC. Also, recently at Microsoft's WebTV Networks, Jacob created and managed the strategic relationships with key new media, broadcast and cable companies for Microsoft's online and Interactive TV services. At SportsLine.com, Inc. (CBS SportsLine), Jacob served as the director of advanced development, working in technical contract negotiations and business development for strategic alliances and partnerships. As vice president of architecture development at On Ramp, Inc., Jacob had direct line responsibility for development of, and, support for, existing technical infrastructure and software development efforts. Other relevant positions include, director, CER Diagnostics and usability lab coordinator at Sun Microsystems, Inc. Jacob earned a B.A. in biology from Westminster College in Fulton Missouri. Michael Greeson, Senior Analyst, Director of Broadband Research, Parks Associates: Michael examines broadband residential access technologies and services, customer-premised broadband equipment, home networking, mobile data services, and voice-over-broadband products and services for Parks Associates, a Dallas-based research consultancy specializing in emerging residential technologies. His recent work includes Broadband Access @ Home III (November 2002), Next-Generation Digital Cable Set-Top Boxes: Analysis & Forecasts (October 2002), PC-Based Digital Entertainment in the Internet Home (October 2002), and The Residential Gateway Report: Fourth Edition (May 2002). Mr. Greeson is frequently cited in the technology press, including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Time, Business Week, San Jose Mercury News, Broadband Week, ZDNet, TelecomBusiness, and many other publications. Mr. Greeson is an energetic speaker and consultant with a pragmatic perspective on what devices and services consumers will actually adopt. Michael has a BA in Philosophy from the University of Central Oklahoma, and graduated summa cum laude with an MA in Interdisciplinary Social Science at the University of Chicago. Joyce A. Schwarz is an author/speaker/consultant and one of the leaders i n the emerging entertainment and media arena. She heads JCOM, a new product launch and branding consulting firm located in Marina Del Rey, California. Joyce has created marketing and advertising campaigns for more than 100 consumer and B2B technologies and products ranging from emusic.com to projects for Philips, France Telecom & AT&T. She combines more than 20 years experience in advertising and marketing for international ad agencies such as Foote Cone & Belding with a masters degree in film from USC and extensive production experience in film, television, video and interactive. She wrote "Reinventing Hollywood" for the NAB in 1992 and then co-wrote "Multimedia: Gateway to the Next Millennium" in 1993, "How to Break Into the New Hollywood" in 1995. Her latest book is "Cutting the Cord: Guide to Going Wireless" Que Publishing, June 2002. Schwarz is well known as a business writer and colu! mnist for more than 150 articles in such publications as: Business 2.0, Conferenza, Digitrends.net, 'Christian Science Monitor", 'Sales and Marketing' (SAM), LA Times and more. She was the chair and organizer for the first Paris, France Internet/ITV conference from 1995-1997, Digital Day LA , 1993-1996 and is a popular keynote speaker at such conferences as the Invention Convention and the San Diego Computer Fair.
