Mandera is a digital home Evangelist/Staff Technical Marketing Engineer in Software and Solutions at Intel Corporation. He is responsible for enabling ISVs on digital home technologies (UPnP, DTCP/IP), developing enabling strategies and evangelizing digital home technologies. He has over 8 years of experience in software and technical marketing combined. In the past, he led Intel's marketing representation on Web services standards - UDDI.org and later OASIS UDDI during 2002 and 2003. He has spoken at leading conferences like Software Development Conference & Web Services World XML and Web Services Conference, contributed to a book chapter in the notable XML Handbook (5th edition) and his articles have appeared in leading magazines like IDS, DevX and JavaWorld. He holds an M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University, M.S. in Computer Science and Engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington and a B. Tech. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Regional Engineering College, Calicut, India. Alan J. Armstrong, Vice President of Marketing, Storage Business Gro up, Marvell® Semiconductor: Dr. Alan Armstrong has served as Vice President of Marketing of the Storage Business Group of Marvell® Semiconductor, Inc. since July 1999. From 1991 until 1999, Dr. Armstrong held various positions at Cirrus Logic Inc., a designer and manufacturer of analog and mixed-signal circuits, including Director of Product Planning and Applications for Data Storage Products. Dr. Armstrong holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from San Diego State University and Master of Science and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego.Shahi Ghanem, President, DivX Networks: Mr. Ghanem has extensive experience in advanced technology product development, electronic business, business development and systems integration consulting. Mr. Ghanem was co-founder and President of Eotec, LLC, a professional services firm dedicated to helping early stage technology and Internet companies develop sound business strategies, acquire capital and build successful businesses. Mr. Ghanem grew Eotec into a profitable business with a diverse selection of successful clients in the infrastructure, media and commerce industries. Prior to founding Eotec, Mr. Ghanem served as Vice President of Technology and Electronic Business for Greens.com, a leading provider of eBusiness solutions for the golf industry. At Greens.com, Mr. Ghanem had operational responsibility for the Company's product management, engineering, quality assurance and EBusiness strategy organizations. Prior to joining Greens.com, Mr. Ghanem was the National Program Director of EBusiness and Advanced Technology for Complete Business Solutions, Inc. (CBSI), a 6,500-person global systems integrator. Before joining CBSI, Mr. Ghanem was a Director with Claremont Technology Group's Advanced Technology Center. Mr. Ghanem was educated at Cal State Long Beach and the University of California at Irvine, where he majored in both economics and pre-med and competed as an NCAA Division 1 athlete. Jack P. Guedj, Vice President of Video Products Marketing, Cirrus Logic, Inc.: Jack P. Guedj joined Cirrus in April 2003 as vice president of Video Products Marketing, where he is responsible for worldwide strategic and tactical marketing for DVD and Video Recorder Technologies. Guedj joins Cirrus with many years of video marketing and sales experience from National Semiconductor, Faroudja and most recently at TVIA. Based in Fremont, Calif., Guedj will lead Cirrus market efforts in serving the high-growth digital video market segments including DVD players, DVD recorders, hard-drive-based digital video recorders, DVD receivers where Cirrus has embarked upon a comprehensive silicon-to-software platform strategy. Prior to joining Cirrus, Guedj served as president of TVIA, a leading provider of streaming media gateway ICs for residential broadband, information access devices and digital TV markets. Guedj also served as president of HTMC, where he oversaw a consulting business for CEOs, and was vice president of Worldwide Sales and Marketing at Faroudja. Guedj also served as director of Digital Media/Broadband SMS at National Semiconductor, where he directed Nationals Digital Media/Broadband Strategic Market Segment and marketing and sales activities for the broadband set-top box, cable modem, home gateway, DVD and digital TV markets. Guedj graduated in 1982 from Physique et Chimie de Paris, and received a DEA degree from the University of Paris I in 1983. Guedj obtained his masters degree from the University of California Los Angeles Graduate School of Management. Vincent F. Sollitto, Jr., Brillian Corporation's President and Chief Executive Officer, brings 33 years of management and engineering experience to his position and is responsible for driving the company's strategic direction. Prior to joining Brillian, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Photon Dynamics, Inc., a manufacturer of flat-panel-display inspection, test, and repair equipment. He helped lead the company through two follow-on public offerings, raising more than $80 million and $100 million in 2000 and 2002 respectively; completed the acquisition of five public and private companies; and was instrumental in growing the company's revenues from $12 million to $94 million. He previously worked at Fujitsu Microelectronics as General Manager of the Logic Products unit, after heading all technical operations for an IBM-funded start-up, Supercomputer Systems, Inc. He also worked at IBM for more than 21 years in a range of increasingly responsible positions, with a final assignment as Director, Technology and Process, for the Enterprise Systems headquarters. Sollitto earned his bachelor of science degree in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University in 1970. He also continued his education in management, business, and technology at Syracuse, Cornell, and Carnegie Mellon Universities. A holder of four technical patents, Sollitto is a Director of several companies, including Ultratech, Applied Films, and Irvine Sensors, which are NASDAQ-listed firms, as well as RAVE LLC, Qubiclight Corp., and the U.S. Display Consortium.Ian Weightman (IMS Researchs Vice President and Research Director for the Digital Consumer & Broadband, Wireless Communications, and Semiconductor groups) is one of IMS Researchs most experienced executives. Educated to degree level in electrical and electronic engineering at Aston University, England, he started his career at Texas Instruments. At TI, Mr. Weightman worked in various technical marketing roles, achieving the position of European strategic marketing manager for ASIC products. He joined IMS Research in 1994, and has since worked on numerous market research studies. He headed-up the companys consultancy division before becoming VP of the worldwide Communications Group. Mr. Weightman has over 7 years of experience in digital TV and broadband market analysis. He has been involved in the production of numerous reports, including "The Worldwide Market for Digital Set-top Boxes and iDTVs," "The Worldwide Market for Semiconductors and Software in Set-top Boxes," and "The Worldwide Market for Home Networks and Residential Gateways." Mr. Weightman was a chairperson of Mediacast 2003 and 2004, moderated several panel sessions at Mediacast 2003 and 2004 and Digital Hollywood 2003, and was part of the judging panel for The Cable & Satellite International Product of the Year Awards 2004. Chris Herring: Director Strategy, Personal Connectivity Solutions Group, AMD: Director of Strategy for Personal Connectivity Solutions Group, AMD, based in Austin, TX. Chris is responsible for driving AMDs PCSG division into new consumer electronics markets such as Personal Media Players, Handsets, and DTV leveraging low power cores, multimedia expertise, and SOC innovation. Chris joined AMD in Aug, 2004 from National Semiconductor Corporation. At National, Chris held the position of Director of Strategy and Architecture for Nationals IA Division. Under his leadership, the team was instrumental in defining a new generation of applications for the emerging Information Appliance market. Prior to National, he held various lead design and architecture roles for Cyrix Corporation (acquired by National) and IBM. Chris holds 18 patents with IBM, Cyrix, and National. He holds a Masters in EE from Ga. Tech in 1988 and a Bachelors in EE from Ga. Tech in 1987. Pat O'Malley, Senior Vice President, Consumer Electronics Business Development, Seagate Technology: On January 1, 2004, Pat O'Malley assumed the role of Senior Vice President, Consumer Electronics Business Development in the Global Sales and Marketing organization. O'Malley joined Seagate in 1988 as Sr. Financial Analyst, and during the past sixteen years has held various management roles at Seagate including Director of Finance for Corporate FP&A, Senior Director of Finance for Oklahoma City Operations, Senior Director of Finance for Desktop Products Design, Vice President of Finance for Recording Media Operations and Senior Vice President of Finance for Manufacturing Operations. Prior to Seagate, O'Malley spent four years as an Senior Staff Accountant for Arthur Young & Co. O'Malley holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame, 1984. |
