Niall Duffy, Associate Partner, IBM Global Services: Niall Duffy is an Associate Partner in IBMs Business Consulting Services unit of IBM Global Services. Niall is on assignment to IBMs Digital Media Emerging Business Opportunity team. The DM EBO is a specialist IBM unit set focusing on new digital technologies and rolling out new solutions inside IBM and to our customers. Niall concentrates on digital content management technologies, on solutions that cover the ingest, management and publishing of digitised content. Nialls key areas of interest are on how content management technologies can be applied practically in organisations to generate efficiency savings and in how they can assist in the transformation of the business. Niall has been one the key people defining IBM content management strategy in the broadcasting industry, and in our Marketing Asset Management business.
Janet Van Pelt, President and CEO, Anystream: Janet Van Pelt has over 18 years of e xperience in providing financial and operational leadership that has helped transform a number of emerging software companies into category leaders and leading brands. As CFO and senior vice president of Peachtree Software, she guided the companys financial strategy in preparation for an initial public offering, a path that ultimately resulted in the acquisition of the company by Best Software in 2000. Van Pelt served as the CFO and VP of Operations at MicroHelp, Inc., makers of the first Windows uninstaller program, negotiating financings and partnerships which led to the inclusion of UnInstaller in the McAfee product line. Van Pelt also joined Samna Corporation shortly before its introduction of Ami Pro the first Windows-based word processor software and served as its primary financial executive after Samnas acquisition in 1990 by Lotus Development Corporation. As CFO of Telemate.Net Software, a publicly held producer of voice network intelligence software, Van Pelt directed the companys acquisition by Verso Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: VRSO) in 2001. Van Pelt most recently served as CFO of MBS, Inc., an integrated payroll and benefits technology service provider now owned by H&R Block. Van Pelt holds an masters of business administration degree in finance from Georgia State University, a bachelors of science degree in accounting from Bob Jones University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Brian Kelly is president of Technicolor Network Services, a new Technicolor business that provides channel origination and broadcast playout services for media & entertainment customers. Through strategic growth initiatives, the division is building digital network origination/playout centres that enable network or channel distribution to a variety of platforms cable, terrestrial broadcast and DTH (satellite) for channel operators. In addition, the division offers out-of-home advertising services through Convergent (Atlanta) and Thomsons joint venture company, Screenvision, the leader in worldwide cinema advertising. Kelly is responsible for overall strategic development and growth for the division on a worldwide basis. Kelly has been instrumental in building the Network Services business. He led the acquisition of Corinthian Television Facilities in London in 2004. In 2005, Kelly was also responsible for the the acquisition of VCF in Paris . These facilities together with a custom-built facility in Tokyo manage broadcast playout services for numerous customers to territories around the globe. Services include operations outsourcing and management, and content preparation such as subtitling, international versioning, format conversions, and tape duplication. Since joining Technicolor in 2000, Kelly has held several executive positions including chief financial officer for Thomsons Services division and, prior to Thomsons acquisition of Technicolor in 2001, executive vice president of finance for Technicolor. Prior to Technicolor, Kelly was head of mergers & acquisitions for Carlton Communications where his duties included managing all financial transactions for the company. Kelly started his career with Coopers & Lybrand, where he was trained and qualified as a chartered accountant, the equivalent of a Certified Public Accountant. Kelly graduated from Imperial College, part of London University where he earned his B.S.C. in Mechanical Engineering.
Dr. Isbouts is President of Pantheon Studios, Inc. in Santa Monica, CA. He is also G raduate Professor at the Media Studies department at the Fielding Graduate University, headed by Dr. Bernard Luskin. Isbouts was formerly Managing Director of Philips Interactive Media Europe, based in London, UK. His most recent books including "Charlton Heston's Hollywood" (GoodTimes Publishing) and "Discovering Walt" (Hyperion); he is currently writing a major new publication for National Geographic. Previous presentations included papers at MIP-TV, MIPCOM, Cannes and other television and motion picture venues.
