Track II:
The Broadband Video Tipping Point: Availability of Vast Content and Portability - Broadband, ITV, Mobile & DTV
Video has finally reached into the merger of the entertainment, communications and technology revolution and making itself heard. Call it a Video Tipping Point, a video revolution or simply the next logical step in video to the consumer on all platforms, all the time, but something big is at hand. Video search is becoming the hot button topic and one must ask the question, what are they searching for? As broadband brings video to the consumer on any number of devices, there is no shortage of video content. From the billions of hours of already existing libraries, the daily output of the global news and content providers to the trillions of hours of "personal video," call them v-blogs, Video PodCasts, mobisodes or personal video chat, our universe is past the point of no return. We are now simply codifying the experience, giving it form and coherence. For those who are with us today, welcome to the party, because you will remember this tipping point moment forever.

One of Cornwells most successful entrepreneurial ventures was the start-up of the business jet charter company Skyjet, which he founded in 1997 after determining that technology solutions for aggregating charter aircraft inventory would create market efficiencies. He secured private financing and developed and launched the first real-time booking engine for the charter jet industry in 1998. Under Cornwells leadership as chief executive officer, Washington, DC-based Skyjet quickly grew to become the driving force in an all-new segment of the industry. Cornwell went on to serve as vice president of strategy and business development for Dallas-based Bombardier Business Jet Solutions, parent company of Bombardier Skyjet and Bombardier Flexjet. During his tenure, he developed a strategic course for Flexjet, the fractional ownership division of Bombardier Aerospace, which resulted in a series of new fractional product offerings and new distribution channels for the fractional aircraft fleet. In addition, he restructured the companys sales and marketing functions and supervised strategic planning for both Flexjet Europe and Bombardier Skyjet. With responsibility for management oversight of the Skyjet division, the company experienced 50 times growth in revenue from the time it was acquired and became a profitable entity within the Bombardier Aerospace family. Prior to forming Skyjet, Cornwell started several media companies in the burgeoning Eastern Europe market, including Word Up! Inc., which provided English-language radio programming to Central Eastern Europe, and CET Online, an early pioneer in Internet-distributed daily news in Europe. Earlier in his career, Cornwell founded a not-for-profit organization, the National Service League, Inc., which brought businesses and young people together to aid in the transition to emerging democracies in Eastern Europe.
