Ian Blaine, Chief Executive Officer, thePlatform: Ian Blaine is a software industry veteran with experience at large software companies as well as successful start-ups. He has a strong background in product development, having spent over nine years at Aldus/Adobe Systems as a senior manager in the publishing division. In addition, he has proven entrepreneurial experience, having co-founded two successful start-up companies. In 1998, Ian founded an online personal information management company, Uniplanet, which he led as CEO from startup to acquisition by NBCi in 1999. In 2000, Ian co-founded thePlatform, and has successfully guided the company through two rounds of financing, and two mergers. He is a director of thePlatform and in addition to managing day-to-day activities, he sets long- term strategy for the company. Ian holds a B.A. in business administration from the University of Washington.



Andrew Solmssen, Executive Vice President, Schematic: Andrew manages national accounts and client service for Schematic. As such, he directs Schematic's account managers and is responsible for client satisfaction and retention. He serves as a consultant on selected client engagements, providing strategic planning and advice. Andrew's work at Schematic has received several awards and been profiled publications for in areas including cable television marketing, law firm technology, and consumer electronics. Andrew has nearly a decade of experience creating interactive projects and applications for a wide range of businesses. He previously served as Executive Producer at Kaufman Patricof Enterprises (KPE). At KPE, Andrew spearheaded major initiatives for Variety, TBS Superstation, Discovery, Capitol Records, and America Online. In 1997, he developed and produced the most popular piece of content on AOL. Sent to the West Coast to start KPE's Los Angeles office, Andrew grew that business, producing Web sites and software projects for Nielsen, New Line Cinema, and Princess Cruises. He is a frequent speaker on the role of the interactive media on businesses, and is a leader in the Los Angeles technical community. Andrew is a graduate of Hamilton College.

LORI H. SCHWARTZ, Senior Vice President, Director of Emerging Media, Interpublic Emerging Media Lab: As Senior Vice President and Director of the Interpublic Emerging Media Lab, a center for marketing innovation located in Los Angeles, Lori provides consultation and solution recommendations for the latest in broadband, wireless and emerging media solutions. She has produced a number of broadband solutions for Sony Pictures, Microsoft, GSN, General Motors, Reebok, Nautica and Park Place Entertainment among others. Prior to serving as Director of the Lab, Lori served as the interactive/new media producer at McCann Worldgroup, providing interactive expertise for the agency’s Los Angeles client base. She worked with clients to create original content solutions across multiple channels. Lori also facilitated partnerships with entertainment, sports and other content providers, and served as the agency representative on all issues pertaining to emerging media. An active member of the marketing and entertainment industries, Lori has led a project for the American Film Institute's Digital Content Lab and also serves on the Board of Governors for the Producers Guild of America’s New Media Council and has recently joined the foundation board for Women in Film. She is an executive committee member of the Interactive Peer Group for the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and participates in a number of advanced advertising standardizations groups. When she is not working with clients, Lori can be found on stage in Hollywood performing with a number of improvisational comedy theaters.

Jim Denney, Vice President, Product Marketing, TiVo Inc.: As vice president of product marketing at TiVo, Jim Denney manages the team responsible for defining TiVo's service direction and requirements. During his tenure, he has also lead product efforts with various consumer electronic partners including the development of integrated DVD recorders with the TiVo service, and a variety of other service enhancements. Prior to joining TiVo, Mr. Denney was director of product marketing at iBEAM Broadcasting/WilTel Communications, focusing on the creation of distribution networks for streaming media for both enterprise and entertainment applications. He has also held positions at Silicon Graphics and Andersen Consulting. Mr. Denney has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University.










Seth Shapiro – Principal, New Amsterdam Media Inc.: New Amsterdam Media consults with venture, technology and creative leaders in the design and deployment of digital media including DVR, VOD, IPTV, iTV, download, mobile and social media services. Two-time Emmy® Award winner Seth Shapiro is a pioneer in the application of technology to global entertainment franchises and a leading expert in the application of digital media technologies to emerging business models. He has directed digital media initiatives for The Walt Disney Company, DIRECTV, Warner Bros, Cendant, Jones Intercable, ACTV and others, with partners including TiVo, Microsoft, Sony, HBO, Showtime, STARZ, CBS, NBC, FOX, ESPN, Major League Baseball and the NFL. As Director of Production, Advanced Services at DIRECTV, Seth led or supported over 30 interactive product launches across four platforms, designed the NFL DVR Highlights On Demand Service, and was a key contributor to the 2002 DIRECTV/TiVo agreement. Prior to this, he produced and designed gaming content for the Walt Disney Company and others, beginning in 1994, as Senior Software Engineer for the award-winning Charlton Heston’s Voyage Through The Bible. He has fifteen years senior management experience in software, TV and music production and additional consulting experience in the design, development and deployment of emergent media for national distribution networks. Seth began his career as a startup employee of interactive television pioneer ACTV, and went on to found KOE Recordings, an internationally distributed record label, where he produced and directed the MTV-selected video Realife I. Originally a composer, he was Adelbert Alumni Scholar at Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland Institute of Music and is a magna cum laude graduate of New York University. An active participant in the advanced services community, Seth is a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (Interactive Media Peer Group), the Producers Guild of America’s New Media Council, an Advisor to the ITV Alliance and a mentor for the American Film Institute’s Digital Content Lab.
