Omar Hamoui, Founder & CEO, AdMob: Omar Hamoui is an entrepreneur with deep roots in the mobile industry. After earning a degree in Computer Science at UCLA and prior to founding AdMob, Omar founded and ran several companies in mobile software and services. At the time, he was frustrated by the lack of available options when it came to promoting and monetizing his products. Omar realized that mobile service and content firms needed better ways to advertise and make money on the mobile Web. Omar created AdMob to solve this problem. The AdMob Marketplace offers advertisers access to the world's largest network of mobile Web inventory, and a powerful set of targeting tools with real-time metrics and reporting. AdMob is providing advertisers the opportunity to run ads across a comprehensive set of mobile content channels, including communities, entertainment, news, and portals for advertisers with budgets as low as $10. From a standing start in early 2006, AdMob now reaches more than 250 mil page views per month in over 150 countries. Advertisers range from small startups to top 10 global brands. And the network continues to grow at a rate of 150% per month. With the recent integration of the contextual search channel, AdMob also now offers advertisers access to mobile Web searches through Google's mobile AdWords service. Recently Omar completed a round of fundraising led by Sequoia Capital, and expanded his Board of Directors to include Jim Goetz, General Partner at Sequoia, and Maynard Webb, Silicon Valley investor and former COO of eBay, Inc. Today, at 29, Omar is running one of the fastest growing, most innovative companies in the mobile world.
