All Video-All the Time: Next Generation in Media Technologies Creating and Maintaining a Rich Media Internet & Mobile Based Broadcasting Networks & Video Aggregators
As video reaches into all sectors of the media space, content, the technology, the devices, the infrastructure, the entire way that companies and groups, large and small approach their work will alter. What had been a web news group is now a video production unti. What had been a print publication with a website becomes an indie television network. What had been a blog becomes a vlog. The consumer is expecting to see all-video all the time and media companies, big and small, from giant magazine conglomerates to school newspapaers are going to have to think in terms of video 24/7 if they wish to break through the crowd and serve their customer base. All-video all the time is a challenge but it may also be the most exciting hurdle the technology industry has created yet.

Eric Elia, VP, Content and Online Services, Brightcove: Eric is responsible for leading Brightcove's online service efforts including content and programmer relationships, the Brightcove online experience, and editorial functions. Eric joins Brightcove from Comcast where for the past several years he has led the development and user experience of the award-winning Comcast.net, Comcast's widely used broadband online service. In particular, Eric led the conceptualization, development, and launch of Comcast's The Fan, its breakthrough Internet video-on-demand service. Prior to Comcast, Eric was the Vice President of Business Development at broadband video pioneer The FeedRoom, where he managed key technology and content industry partnerships. Before The FeedRoom, Eric managed technology editorial and conceived of ClickCinema and ClickVideo, pioneering online video services for Excite@Home, the industry's first broadband online service.
Mark Pascarella, President, Gotuit Media Corp.: Mark Pascarella is President of Gotuit Media Corp. As one of Gotuits founding investors, Mark has been a member of the companys Board of Directors since inception and joined Gotuit full-time in 2001. Under Pascarellas direction, Gotuit has pioneered video search / navigation and has become the leading provider of on demand video products for multiple platforms including: cable, broadband and mobile. Before joining Gotuit Media, Pascarella teamed up with Sidney Topol, the former Chairman and CEO of Scientific-Atlanta (SFA), to found The Topol Group, an early-stage investment firm. In addition to Gotuit, The Topol Group's investments include broadband router manufacturer RiverDelta Networks (Motorola), cable services provider Navic Networks, VoIP switch maker Cedar Point Communications, and the multimedia semiconductor company Atsana, where Pascarella served on the Board of Directors. From 1992 to 1997, Pascarella worked in Business Development at Procter & Gamble. He holds a BS in Management from Bucknell University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
David Graves, CEO of PermissionTV, is a seasoned media executive with extensive management experience in radio, TV, online and software development. As Senior Vice President of Media at Yahoo!, he oversaw highly successful properties including Yahoo! News, Finance, Sports, Travel, Education, Health, and Get Local. Prior to Yahoo!, Dave was president of Reuters Media, the global media arm of Reuters, plc. where his responsibilities included the wire services, online news, television and pictures. His operation had offices throughout the world and produced products in 17 languages. During his tenure, Reuters Media became the leading supplier of news to the online world as well as traditional media. Before Reuters, he was founding CEO of AdValue Media Technologies, a start-up technology company, which connected TV stations to ad agencies for the buying and selling of commercials, a company later acquired by Reuters. Among its customers were NBC, CBS, Young & Rubicam Advertising and McCann-Erickson. Prior to that, Dave had a long, successful tenure at Westinghouse Broadcasting (now CBS) in both radio and syndicated TV. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College.
David Clarke, Vice President, Business Development, SearchForVideo: David is resp onsible for Searchformedia's content acquisition, partnerships & new business initiatives as well as liaising with film, television, new-media companies, content producers and aggregators wishing to build out their online multimedia search strategies. The last 7 years has seen him working with Rocketinfo a leading RSS company providing aggregated news & weblog content search. Previously he has held senior positions with imaging & internet technology companies in the roles of Sales, Brand Management and Business Development. Searchformedia is a leading video search company, powering one of the Internet's most comprehensive video search experiences available through a network of portals including searchforvideo.com. The company's proprietary "learning" technology enables consumers to quickly find premium video content by removing search result links to files that are static, incomplete or broken. Its unique search results are the only type of its kind that direct consumers back to the content owner's website before playing the content, enabling providers and media creators to build their own traffic and better monetize content. The company's proprietary technology has five patents pending and draws upon millions of video clips from more than 10,000 independent sources. The growing popularity of Searchforvideo.com, part of the Searchformedia Network, is driving ever-larger numbers of international users to the online video search, intent on providing the user community with the best possible experience Searchforvideo has enabled Spanish and German users to search and discover video in their native language. Jack Perry, President & Chief Executive Officer, Decisionmark: Since 1 996, Jack Perry has successfully guided Decisionmark from startup to a highly profitable business. Mr. Perry has long been acknowledged as a media technology visionary known for his work with high-growth, technology-based companies such as Powercore, CE Software, and Interactive Resources. He is also noted for his Electronic Program Guide (EPG) innovations, for his work in the digital TV sector, and for his groundbreaking efforts regarding issues surrounding the SHVIA. Mr. Perry is also a respected figure inside the beltway for having educated legislators and members of the FCC on digital and satellite broadcast issues. He has been the lead inventor in the development of Decisionmark's growing number of patented technologies. The first patent covers household determination of broadcast signals delivered via satellite, others are key to solving issues related to broadcast signals delivered via the Internet or advancing the EPG to the household level. The most recent patent covers off-air antenna selection at the household level, a very timely patent due to resurgence of over-the-air broadcasting with the emergence of the transition to digital TV. These technologies have served as the basis for several Decisionmark innovations, all developed under the leadership of Mr. Perry, including TitanTV.com. The TitanTV EPG is the premiere online program guide with PVR capabilities having nearly half of a million users and placement on nearly 1,000 TV station web sites. It is the only guide that is updated in real-time by broadcasters who use Decisionmark's proprietary program scheduling tool. Mr. Perry has been a regular presenter at broadcast and technology conferences across the U.S., including: Streaming Media East and West, Kagan's Digital Household Summit, CES and Digital Hollywood. Mr. Perry has also been named a member of the Consumer Electronics Association's Academy of Digital Television Pioneers. In October 2005, Mr. Perry was the Keynote Speaker at the DTV Symposium. Mr. Perry was recently nominated by the Consumer Electronic Association's Academy of Digital Television Pioneers (the DTV Academy) for its 2004 Best DTV Leadership (Industry) Award. A resident of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Mr. Perry earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree from the University of Iowa.
Todd Boes, Vice President of Marketing, Maven Networks: Todd Boes has more tha n a decade of experience executing product strategies, rollouts and multi-million dollar marketing programs for award-winning product lines from companies such as Macromedia, Allaire, Sybase and Powersoft. Prior to joining Maven Networks, Todd was Vice President of Marketing at Altio, Inc., a London-based rich media software company acquired by Integra SP in March 2003. Todd joined Altio from Macromedia (NASDAQ: MACR) where he oversaw two product lines in the company's Application Server Division (established through the acquisition of Allaire Corporation) that generated over $100 million in revenue. At Allaire, Todd led a product marketing and product management team that helped Allaire reach $119 million in annual revenues within the company's first four years of operation. Prior to Allaire, Todd led Sybase Inc.'s (NYSE:SY) Database and Data Warehouse Design Tools Division and previously managed product marketing for Powersoft's award-winning 4GL development tool, PowerBuilder. Todd earned Bachelor of Science and Masters Degrees in Business Administration from Syracuse University.
Scott Ehrlich, CEO, Red Tie, Inc.: Scott Ehrlich has more than a decade of top-tier television and Internet management experience, serving in the senior management teams at Real Networks, Rivals.com and News Digital Media (Newscorp/Fox). In these positions, Scott has managed staffs of more than 200 employees, and annual budgets in excess of $40 million. He has negotiated landmark deals with major media entities in news (CNN, ABC News, The Weather Channel, CNET, WSJ.com), sports (NBA, NFL, NASCAR, MLB, PGA Tour, FOX Sports) and entertainment (E! Entertainment, CBS (Big Brother and Survivor), iFilm, Starz On Demand, Playboy) for the carriage, distribution and packaging rights to their content over IP, at various times managing relationships with four of the largest media companies in the world (Viacom, Disney, AOL Time Warner and News Corporation). Currently Scott serves as the managing partner in Impulse Media, a Seattle based digital business consulting company and Red Tie, Inc., a development company with offices in New York and Seattle. In the past year he has served as a consultant and advisor to top management at Sony Pictures Digital Networks (digital media business strategy), Rivals.com (senior corporate advisor), Infospace (search and directory application distribution), ABC News Digital Media Group (broadband and mobile digital media distribution), DivX Networks (content strategy and acquisition), iFilm, Inc. (senior corporate advisor) and Microsoft (digital media business strategy). Scott has overseen industry-changing initiatives and the development of ground-breaking applications in digital media. Expert in strategic planning, product and business development, he has been responsible for all content, revenue, product development, creative services, deal making, marketing, and long-term strategy. He is widely recognized as a leader in digital media, winning industry awards, serving as company spokesperson, and in high demand for public speaking engagements and panel appearances at industry conferences. Prior to forming Impulse and Red Tie, Scott served as Vice President of Media Acquisition and Distribution for RealNetworks, Inc. (Nasdaq: RNWK) In that role, he developed strategies, negotiated, implemented and managed product deals and relationships for the GoldPass and RealOne SuperPass services and drove growth of Real Networks' subscription services to more than 1 million subscribers. Previously, Scott was Executive Vice-President and General Manager for Rival Networks, the publisher of Rivals.com, where he oversaw all aspects of the business including advertising sales, e-commerce, content, business development, marketing, public relations and creative services. At Rivals.com, Scott grew the network from 350 niche sports sites to over 800, while fostering revenue growth in excess of 400%. He developed and executed the operations plan, business strategy and documentation for Rivals' S-1 filing, securing financing ($35M, Softbank, 2000) and significant distribution deals (Yahoo! Sports, 2000). In addition, Scott supported international development with Rivals UK and Japan. Earlier in his career, Scott was the senior vice president and executive producer of News America Digital Publishing, with responsibility for all editorial, production, technology and product development for News Corporation's content-based digital publishing ventures, including FOX.com, FoxNews.com, tvguide.com and FoxSports.com. Scott has years of television management and consulting experience working with major broadcasting outlets other than Fox, such as NBC Cable, Twentieth Television, Paramount and McGraw-Hill Broadcasting. Ehrlich received his masters degree from The Graduate School of Political Management, now part of George Washington University and his undergraduate degree from Kenyon College.
Art Bushnell, Vice President, Sales and Business Development, Voxant: Art Bushnell is a 20-year sales veteran with an extensive background in news and financial information services. He has worked with Reuters, Thomson Financial, Proquest, DataTimes and UPI. Originally a reporter and editor, Art has spent the bulk of his career working with broadcasters, newspapers and Web publishers. After leaving UPI as deputy CEO, he spent several years in charge of the U.S. media and new media business areas at Reuters. Art also spent eight years at Thomson Financial, leading Internet sales and directing advertising sales and hosting efforts for the Thomson Financial Network destination site. Art attended the University of Oregon, where he was editor of the Oregon Daily Emerald student newspaper
