In this capacity, Harran is responsible for executing all non-linear platform distribution for the Turner properties across broadband, VOD, interactive television and wireless technology platforms. A seasoned TV Distribution and New Media veteran, Harran has held positions with Starz Encore as Division Vice President where he lead the start up of their Los Angeles New Media Division and The Weather Channel focusing on cable and satellite distribution. Most recently, he served as director of business development for N2 Broadband, focusing on VOD media partnerships and distribution strategies for cable operators and content providers. In addition, Harran served as Vice President of Amplified Holdings, during the start up and acquisition phase of a business-to-business ecommerce and digital music distribution provider. Harran earned a bachelor of arts degree in business management from Skidmore College. He is currently a member of the Cable Telecommunications Association of Marketing (CTAM) and the On-Demand Consortium.Rob Glidden, Market Development Manager, Broadband and Digital Media, Sun Microsystems: Rob Glidden is Market Development Manager for Broadband and Digital Media at Sun Microsystems, responsible for Sun's broadband segment strategy and partner relations for broadband, digital television, and interactive television networks. He represents Sun in open media industry groups including the Web3D Consortium. Glidden has over two decades of experience in the computing and digital media fields as an entrepreneur, developer, speaker, journalist, author and analyst. Byron Elton, Vice President, AOL Media Networks, America Online, Inc.: Elton and his team manage relationships with and develop innovative interactive campaigns for some of AOL's biggest marketing partners including all of the entertainment business with major movie studios, cable and network television and leading consumer brands (particularly automotive and healthcare brands). Prior to joining AOL, Elton was in television station management -- most recently serving as president and general manager of ABC affiliate station KEYT TV in Santa Barabara. Elton has served as company spokesman for AOL with press and spoken on panels at industry events including iMediaConnection. Craig Peters, Vice President, Business Development, Fox Interactive Media: Craig Peters serves as Vice President of Business Development for Fox Interactive Media. His responsibilities include identifying, evaluating and structuring Internet, mobile and broadband opportunities, with emphasis on the sports industry. Prior to Fox Interactive Media, Craig spent over four years at the PGA TOUR where he was responsible for developing and executing the PGA TOUR's worldwide New Media strategies. His accomplishments include executing and overseeing Internet, mobile, broadband and photographic rights relationships, successfully launching the PGA TOUR Network on XM Satellite Radio and being awarded an Emmy by the National Television Academy for Outstanding Achievement in Advanced Media Technology for the Enhancement of Original Television Content. Craig's career also includes serving as Vice President of Strategy for Homestead Technologies, a Bay Area software company, working as a management consultant in the High Technology Practice of A.T. Kearney and spending over four years with Eastman Kodak Company. He received his undergraduate degree in Finance from The Ohio State University and his Masters in Business Administration from The University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business. Oren Katzeff is Director of Business Development for the Yahoo Media Group, where his primary focus is negotiating all business deals for Yahoo News. Within this role, Oren has negotiated and managed over fifty of Yahoo News' content license agreements, including those with The Associated Press, Reuters, AFP, USAToday, The Weather Channel, CNN, Gawker, Huffington Post, and many others. He has also played a key role in the distribution of some of Yahoo's original content creations, having struck distribution deals for both Kevin Sites and Richard Bangs Adventures. Prior to joining Yahoo, Oren practiced law at a small firm in San Mateo, California, gaining experience in both the litigation and business transactions side of the profession. Although he no longer practices law, it still makes him smile when his grandmother proudly tells her friends that her "grandson is a lawyer". Oren holds an undergraduate business degree from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, and a JD from Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco. He has written over ten short screenplays, seven of which were filmed and submitted in film competitions (a few of them were award winning), and he thinks that he will one day license his own video content to the masses. Trevor Kaufman, CEO, Schematic: As CEO, Trevor Kaufman guides Sch ematic, the award-winning Los Angeles based interactive services agency. Over the last seven years, Schematic has played a central role in the convergence of entertainment and technology, developing groundbreaking projects focused on user interface, design and technology solutions for the screen, set-top boxes, game consoles, mobile devices and the Internet. Trevor began Schematic after founding and serving as co-CEO of Kaufman Patricof Enterprises (KPE), a successful New York-based Web design and consulting firm backed by Grey Advertising. A leading authority on interactive television and a pioneer in Web site design and development, Trevor has overseen cutting-edge projects for the worlds leading companies, including Microsoft, Disney, Intel, Discovery, Electronic Arts, Sony, CBS, ABC, Accenture, Yahoo!, Panasonic, Comcast, CNN, PBS, Motorola, Fox, AOL, MTV, BMW, Target, Volkswagen, Pfizer and the NFL. With more than a decade of experience, Trevor often serves as a consultant to other organizations seeking to ensure the success of their critical interactive projects, including having worked directly with Al Gore on the 1996 Clinton/Gore online campaign, and with AOL senior management on the global Live8 event in 2005. Trevor is featured regularly as a technology expert in numerous business, trade and broadcast media outlets for his groundbreaking work and thought leadership. He has been recognized as one of The Hollywood Reporters "Next Generation," featuring the 35 top Hollywood executives 35 and under, and one of Newsweek's "Net 50: The Fifty People Who Matter Most on the Internet." Todd Tarpley is President of Tarpley Media, a consultancy specializing in digital strategy and business development. Mr. Tarpley has written and spoken extensively on emerging media, contributing to a Congressional report on the impact of media on children, and authoring chapters of two textbooks on the future of media. Mr. Tarpley was previously Vice President of Digital Content & Packaging for Rainbow Media, where he facilitated development of digital-based brand extensions including WE On Demand, IFC News, the IFC Store, and a CTAM Mark Award-winning broadband content initiative. Mr. Tarpley joined Rainbow in 2002 as Vice President, Interactive Media for Bravo Networks. During his tenure, he doubled Bravo's web site traffic and email list. Mr. Tarpley previously served as Vice President, Interactive for A&E Television Networks, where he established the company's interactive division, launching multiple award-winning web sites, cross-platform video content, and one of the television industrys first profitable ecommerce initiatives. He joined A&E Networks in 1993, serving on the launch team of The History Channel and overseeing research and strategic planning for the network. Earlier in his career, Mr. Tarpley served in production and post-production roles for programs airing on NBC, ABC, HBO, and Lifetime. He began his career as an intern for "Late Night With David Letterman." Mr. Tarpley is a graduate of NYU film school, the University of Iowa, and Yale School of Management. |
