In the five years since the burst of the technology bubble, an amazing thing has happened, the technology industry has once again, perhaps more quietly this time, transformed the relationship of the consumer to communications, media, entertainment and technology. . Whether it’s a wirelessly connected home comprised of unlimited content via DTV and HDTV, PDAs, laptops, desktops PCs, a Set-Top connection, IM devices or telephony system; a broadband mobile device, a fully loaded media friendly car, a broadband workspace or public space, the consumer is connected all the time, sending or receiving information and content. In this session, we will explore what it means to create and enable that fully connected universe.

Scott Crowder, Chief Operating Officer, Entriq: Scott Crowder was appointed to chief operating officer of Entriq in May 2005. In his role, Crowder oversees the day-to-day operations at Entriq, and drives the business and technology strategies. Additionally, Crowder is focused on continuing to secure top content owners and service providers as Entriq customers. Prior to his position as chief operating officer, Crowder was senior vice president of business development and General Manager of Mobile Services at Entriq, and successfully launched the company's highly-anticipated Mobile Solution. The Entriq Mobile Solution provides full security and DRM capabilities including OMA, video, audio and image delivery via WAP or Java applications. Prior to joining Entriq, he held the position of Chief Operating Officer for Clearkey Solutions. ClearKey focused on rights management solutions for media and document security. Prior to joining Clearkey Solutions, he was Vice President of Product Operations for the Content Networking group at Inktomi. Crowder developed key business relationships with technology companies and led several large CDN deployments using Inktomi products. Previously, Crowder served as Senior Vice President of Technology Services at AKAMAI/INTERVU. He led the team that built the first globally distributed broadband Content Delivery Network (CDN) for streaming media. Before that, he held the position of Director of Advanced Products Support for Sprint. At Sprint he created several innovative multimedia product offerings that increased revenue and customer satisfaction.

Udo Eberlein joined Nero, Inc. in May 2001 as Founder and President, and successfully launched Nero products in North America, transforming the brand from a CD/DVD burning application into a premier digital media solution. Nero product is now ranked within the top 3 software solutions nationwide. Prior to Nero, Mr. Eberlein was an Executive at ABX Logistics where he oversaw product development, sales and marketing. Mr. Eberlein is a multilingual professional with work experience in Europe, Asia and the USA. He obtained a Masters in Logistics and Business Administration from Academy of Business in Germany. Nero provides state-of-the-art software solutions for the global digital media market. Since the company was founded in 1995, its products have established a loyal clientele of more than 180 million users throughout the world. Claudia Ceniceros, Senior Director, Media and Content Strategy, Cisco Systems, Inc.: Claudia Ceniceros directs Cisco’s media entertainment initiatives and cross-divisional efforts in digital media strategy and business development. Claudia identifies investment opportunities in leading-edge companies in networked entertainment and is charged with communicating the company’s digital media vision and strategy to partners. Before assuming her current duties, Claudia ran corporate public relations at Cisco. Prior to joining Cisco, Claudia was vice president of corporate communications for Acclaim Entertainment, a developer and publisher of software for a variety of gaming platforms. She also held executive positions at ABC Television Network and Robinson Lerer & Montgomery/Sawyer Miller Group. At ABC, she launched network initiatives such as the World Cup HDTV programming and "Disney's One Saturday Morning." At Robinson Lerer & Montgomery, she managed entertainment accounts that included Time Warner, Six Flags, Nickelodeon, MTV Europe, Philips Media and The Special Olympic Games. Claudia graduated from the University of Illinois, Chicago, with a B.A. in philosophy and political science. Memberships: PR Seminar 2004, Arthur W. Barry James Folsom is Motorola Corporate Vice President and General Manager, Connected Home Solutions. Mr. Folsom leads the Home Mobility Solutions business unit, which creates breakthrough products that connect consumers to people and content of strong emotional importance, enabling consumers to focus on connections with who they love and what is important – not the technology that enables it. Prior to his role, Barry James served as a strategic advisor to Motorola’s office of the CEO, helping to shape the company’s Connected Home business strategy. He has over three decades of executive management and strategic marketing experience with a successful track record of transforming companies into rapidly growing category leaders. During Barry James’ tenure as president and CEO of PlaceWare, the company became the fourth-fastest growing private company in Silicon Valley, delivering over 700% growth. At Exodus, Barry James drove a singular focus on Internet Data Centers, reducing the sales cycle by 50% and increased sales 400% in seven months. In addition, Barry James was a Sun executive during its four-year hyper-growth from $100M to $1.7B. As general manager of Sun’s 386i start up East Coast Division, Barry James built the team and its ease-of-use culture. In the early ‘80s, Barry James was an early personal computing pioneer and industry influencer. Known as one of Silicon Valley’s "gadget guru
s," Barry James is often sought out for his advice on cell phones, PDAs, PCs, home electronics and home theater. Barry James has a BS Electrical Engineering and a MS Computer Science from Georgia Tech. He serves on Georgia Tech’s College of Computing Advisory Board and is an active mentor for Women’s Unlimited, a leadership development company for executive women. He’s married with four daughters and is an avid scuba diver.

Ron Vaisbort, Media & Entertainment, Alliances Manager, Intel Corporation: Ron is the Media & Entertainment Alliances Manager for Intel’s Content Services Group, where he is responsible for strategic planning and launching business relationships between Intel and content owners, rights holders and service providers. To define the next generation of digital media experiences, distribution and business models, Ron works closely with numerous film, television, music, sports and gaming companies. As a liaison to Intel’s Digital Home Group, Intel Capital and Intel’s corporate marketing, branding and sponsorship teams, Ron connects Southern California companies and venture capital firms to Intel’s many technologists, strategic investment and corporate marketing professionals.

Scott Smyers, Chairman, DLNA Board of Directors, Vice President, Network and Systems Architecture Division, Platform Technology Center of America, Sony Electronics:
Mr. Smyers serves as the chairman of the Board of Directors of Digital Living Network Alliance and as President of DLNA Corporation. Aside from his DLNA duties, Mr. Smyers is also Vice President of the Network and Systems Architecture Division of the Platform Technology Center of America at Sony Electronics. Mr. Smyers’ particular area of focus is system architecture, system I/O and interfaces. Through his leadership as chairman of the 1394 Trade Association's AV Working Group over the course of seven years, Mr. Smyers has served a pivotal role in bringing about a suite of standards that define consumer device discovery and control. Mr. Smyers now also serves as the Chairman of the CE Linux Forum Steering Committee, and has in the past served as CTO and member of the Board of Directors of the 1394 Trade Association and on the UPnP Steering Committee. Mr. Smyers holds a BA in Physics and Philosophy from Cornell University

Dan Rosenthal, Principal, Mayfield Partners: Dan, a former IPWireless executive, focuses on investments in wireless, communications and networking. Before joining Mayfield in 2006, Dan was vice president of business development at IPWireless, where he led the company’s North American commercial efforts. Prior to working for IPWireless, he was a project manager in the Consumer Windows Group at Microsoft and a business analyst at McKinsey & Co. Dan, who is also a playwright, holds an AB in politics and economics from Princeton and an MBA from Harvard University, where he graduated as a Baker scholar.
