This panel examines the business models that bring ethnically diverse family-centric home entertainment content into video-on-demand, set-top boxes, PCs, cell phones and mobile media players. It also explores the obstacles of moving the family audience from one platform to the next and sheds insight on the content filters and their effectiveness in todays digital homes and schools. Previously, he was Executive Director of the game industry's trade organization, the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences. Bellamy has also played key business and product development roles at Electronic Arts, where he was named the companys Rookie of the Year for his work on the best-selling Madden Football franchise, THQ, and Activision subsidiary Z-Axis. He earned a BA degree from Harvard College in engineering, where he was also a John Harvard scholar and AT&T/ Bell Labs Engineering scholar.Terrence Coles, EVP Sales for NextMedium Inc. At NextMedium Mr. Coles is currently working on delivering advertising technology solutions, information and analytics to all constituencies in the branded entertainment arena. He brings over 13 years of negotiating and sales experience in film, television, music, advertising and e-commerce and over 10 years of interactive and digital production experience. He has produced interactive television and interactive branded marketing concepts from VOD to interactive dvd. Prior to joining NextMedium in early 2005, Mr. Coles worked with Pier 3 Entertainment representing a client roster including Volkswagen, Activision, Becks Beer, Fuji Film, Kraft Fruit2O, Skyy Vodka, Aveda, LL Bean, Fender Musical Instruments and many others for branded entertainment and product placement opportunities in television, film, music and video games. From 1998 through 2001 he was SVP of Programming at video on demand pioneer Intertainer, Inc. His responsibilities included contract negotiations with movie studios, cable networks, record labels and advertising agencies as well as overseeing all in-house production activities and day to day programming of the service. Mr Coles also led the content acquisition and production efforts at Intertainer producing over 50 projects ranging from interactive television programs to interactive advertising and e-commerce platforms and licensed over 1000 hours of content from feature films, documentaries and television shows to music videos. These projects have been produced for National Geographic, PBS, Discovery, Vivendi Universal Games, J Walter Thompson among others. He has held Sales and Marketing position for other media companies including Katz Communications Eastman Radio, Infinity Broadcastings KROQ FM , America Online and Lycos. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from California State University, Fullerton. Brandon Schultz, President ImajiMation Studios, Inc.: After graduatin g from Morehouse College with a BA in Psychology, Schultz enrolled in the New York Film Academys program in Manhattan. There, he wrote and directed a short film entitled, "KNIGHT TAKES QUEEN" and a series of spec commercials for Adidas called "Adidas Dreams". In June of 2000 he became a founding partner and the Creative Director of ImajiMation Studios in Santa Monica, California. The industry's leading African-American owned animation studio, ImajiMation's clients include Adidas, Nestle, UPN, Jive Records, Arista Records and New Line Cinema. Brandon managed the production of several high-profile projects on behalf of ImajiMation. In 2003, Schultz became President of ImajiMation and his responsibilities grew to include the development of original properties. In December of 2003 Brandon penned the breakthrough comic book "BLOKHEDZ" created by his business partners Mark and Mike Davis. The comic meshes supernatural elements with a gritty street reality thats grounded in Hip-Hop culture. The comic and line of toys that it spawned have received coverage on several news outlets including CNN, Reuters, VIBE, Stuff, Maxim, MSNBC.COM, and ABC news. The series was called "dope" by comics legend Stan Lee has and also drawn praise from Hip-Hop mogul Russell Simmons and filmmaker Reginald Hudlin. The BLOKHEDZ animated featurefilm goes into pre-production in January of 2005, which Schultz will write and produce. Recently Brandon wrote and produced "BLOOD THIRSTY" a Blade-inspired animated short featured on New Line Cinemas "BLADE TRINITY" soundtrack. Currently, he is writing a new 1-shot comic book for Marvel comics featuring platinum selling hip-hop artists, Fat Joe, Fabulous, and Lil Kim. Brandon also gives back by serving as a jury member for the Pan-African Film Festival, and has given several lectures to graduate students at the USC School Of Cinema and Television on animation production and writing for animation.Marilyn Beaubien, Chief Financial Officer, Gener8Xion Entertainment, Inc. : Marilyn Beaubien became Chief Financial Officer of the Company in December 2004 after working as Production Controller for the movie "One Night With The King". Between June 2002 and July 2004 Ms. Beaubien was President of Grace and Mercy Entertainment a sole proprietorship that prepared financial packages for various entertainment clients. From June 1997 until June 2002, she was Line Producer for Big Ticket Productions, Inc. on the television sitcom, "Moesha". Prior to that, she has been an associate producer and production consultant for many television and film productions. Ms. Beaubien started her career as an audit senior with Price Waterhouse & Company. She is a CPA, a member of the Producers Guild of America, Inc., and a member of The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.Kimberly King-Burns is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Gree nbridge Media, Inc., a subsidiary of Greenbridge Capital Group, Inc. Prior to co-founding Greenbridge Media, Inc., King-Burns was the Managing Partner of convergenz/solutions, a Los Angeles-based new media brokerage and technology marketing consultancy with expertise spanning traditional media including music, film, cable, television and advertising as well as new media technologies including Internet, mobile, VOD, and e-government. King-Burns is frequently invited to speak at new media conferences around the country to underscore the development and use of the Internet around the world as a social, educational and cultural tool, based on her continuing economic development work with multicultural programs in general ... and community technology workshops in empowerment zones around the United States and overseas in particular. Before launching convergenz/solutions in 1995, King-Burns headed up the high technology and corporate communications groups at Golin/Harris Los Angeles, Shandwick Los Angeles and Porter/Novelli Communications. Her top accounts included Hewlett-Packard, Toshiba, Canon Computer Systems, Inc. and LodgeNet Entertainment Corporation. Before working with Golin/Harris, King-Burns' broad experience included the hands-on development and marketing of CD-ROM interactive entertainment and the Full Service Network video-on-demand trial in the early 1990s as marketing manager with Time Warner Interactive Group. King-Burns came to Time Warner Interactive from PolyGram Records' distribution arm, where she was active in market research roles in New York City and Los Angeles. Her ongoing analysis and coverage of retail new media trends has been published by way of regular contributions to Billboard Magazine, SN Magazine (Fairchild Group of Publications), Video Business Magazine, Perfect Vision, and Computer Life (U.S. and U.K. editions), and her monthly column "Wild West: Hollywood and Technology" was featured for several years in Ziff-Davis' Computer Life U.K. King-Burns is presently active in Women In Technology International [WITI], the Interactive Television Alliance, the Minority & Media Telecommunications Council and Bahamas Film Commission. She serves on the advisory boards of the FAME Renaissance Business Enterprise Center and VIC Network, and was active in the launch of the Getty Information Institute's DigitalExperience laboratory. She co-produced the first Hollywood Film Festival, remains active with Hollywood Black Film Festival's InfoTainment Conference; consults with the Tomas Rivera Policy Institute on Hispano-Hollywood initiatives; and regularly co-produces the annual Asia-specific Global Leadership Forums in tandem with University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business. King-Burns was raised on Harbour Island, Bahamas, and has since launched several Bahamian and Caribbean community portals online. Hines is co-founder and executive producer of NDY (Not-Done-Yet) Media Group, a digital entertainment content distribution and development company. Mr. Hines is responsible for obtaining, developing and syndicating features, documentaries, childrens, family-centric and urban inspirational branded entertainment content properties. He also manages the distribution of this content across a vast array of platforms including, but not limited to theatrical, television, home video/DVD, mobile and the Internet. Mr. Hines also negotiates with content providers, production companies, cable, on-demand networks and advertising agencies as well as overseeing all in-house production and development of branded DVD, VOD and interactive content programming. One of NDY Media Groups goals is to supply high-quality program series and specials that honor and celebrate American Black and urban culture, while marketing directly to the over $800-billion black and urban domestic and global entertainment consumers. As an entrepreneur, Jaymes brings over 12 years of negotiating and consulting experience in independent music, film, television, and newmedia, and e-commerce and over 10 years experience in interactive and digital production. Recently, Jaymes closed a licensing deal to supply urban-themed content to mobile media player manufacturer, Amax, Inc. (China) for US domestic and international on-demand sales markets. A frequent speaker, Jaymes has spoken on the convergence of entertainment, information and multimedia technologies at USC, UCLA, Loyola University and leading international film/television festivals and markets around the globe. With finance Brenda Wilson, he is co-writer/producer of digital gospel documentary series, "We Sing!" and a youth reading and literacy project, "Read Well Early." Jaymes is also co-executive producer of urban family-centric and faith-based development and production company, Always A Great Show Entertainment, which has produced an urban inspirational on-demand, home video and live stand-up comedy series franchise entitled, "Laughalujah." |
